Sadly, Hokball looks dead, and it’s been replaced with shyteball.

I’m usually not one for the post game presser. But I will be watching this one with interest.

I don't mind the stand rule. Umpires just need to call play on a bit quicker, especially for the times a player with the ball runs in an arc or doesn't go back directly over the mark

How were Collingwood allowed to use players outside the emergency list after Bobby hills late out? Did they just ask nicely?

The actual rules are below

The actual rules

11.3 Changes to Team list prior to Match

(a) In the case where a Player has been listed as a Player in the Team list and on the day prior to the Match it becomes apparent that they are unable to play due to injury, illness or personal circumstances, a Club may withdraw the Player from the Team list and (if it elects to do so) replace the Player subject to the following:

(i) the Club notifies the Executive General Manager Football, AFL Media Manager and the Football Manager of the opposition Club of the Player being withdrawn from the Team list and the new Player being included as soon as possible on the day prior to the Match;

(ii) a Club may elect to either:

(A) elevate an Emergency Player listed in the Team list into the Team and replace the elevated Emergency Player with a Player from outside the Team list;

(B) include a Player not listed in the Team list directly into the named Team; (iii) unless prior approval is granted by the Executive General Manager Football, the Player being withdrawn from the Team list is ineligible to play in any match in any other competition during the equivalent round;

(iv) the Club must submit to the AFL written documentation from the Club Medical Officer confirming the reason for the withdrawal of the Player.

(b) Other than as set out in Regulation 11.3(a), a Player who was not listed on the Team list at the time it was lodged with the AFL under Regulation 11.1 or 11.2 is not permitted to be subsequently named as a Player, Emergency Player or Substitute Player on the Official Team Sheet and/or participate in a Match unless prior approval is granted by the Executive General Manager Football.

11.4 Sanctions

(a) Where a Club does not lodge its Team list with the AFL in the required form and/or by the times prescribed in this Regulation 11.1 or 11.2, the Club shall be liable to a sanction.

Sanction: Up to 10 Units.

(b) If a Player is listed on the Official Team Sheet (including as an Emergency Player or Substitute Player) and was not listed on the Team list at the time it was lodged with the AFL under this Regulation 11 or added to the Team list under Regulation 11.3, the Club may be liable to a sanction.

(c) If a Player named on the Team list at the time it was lodged with the AFL is replaced by a Player from outside this Team list, the Player replaced cannot play in any other team in any other competition during the equivalent round unless prior approval is granted by the Executive General Manager Football.

Sanction: Up to 50 Units for each breach
