I got the impression that KP didn't like most of the Poms he played with - so given that, I can't hate the bloke...

I think we can lock in G.Smith and D.Warner opening with K.Pierterson at 3?

Booney wrote:With the retirement of Virat Kohli it made me think of who I love to hate in World Cricket and who I have over the years, so, let's assemble the SA Footy Love to Hate XI.

Think of those who you hate them, but only because they were so good and/or they put it in our faces as we love to do.

For mine there's a few easy selections.

Virat Kohil
Stuart Broad
Ben Stokes
Richard Hadlee
Ian Botham
Curtly Ambrose

A few who might make the cut.

Viv Richards
Rishabh Pant

Who you got?

I must say, you and I think very differently about the game.

Kohli (absolute respect for the guy, disappointed with the Konstas thing, loved when he shut the Indian crowd up when they were ripping on Smith).
Broad (was great as a young lad, turned into a first class knob, you can have that one).
Stokes (outright champion, match-winner with balls of steel).
Hadlee (yes, the crowd got it right, he was a wanker).
Botham (made cricket far more enjoyable growing up in the 80's, gave no f***'s).
Ambrose (pure elegance to watch, cool calm and collected whilst being absolutely lethal and terrifying).

Viv (the coolest cat ever).
Pant (I love the tenacity of the little guy, gives as good as he gets, hard as a cats head).

I agree. I was only paraphrasing the chant from back in the day.

No one had brain farts quite like Shahid Afridi.

Ishant Sharma developed a penis on his head over the years.

Johnny Bairstow would have to get a spot.

Ian Healy has the keepers role well and truly secured.

Maybe just me but thought G.Smith was a tough bugger who got the most out of his limited abilities. Gave off tough Aussie cricket vibes.

Didn't mind the bloke.

He was South Africans Temu Steve Waugh.

Forgot about Bairstow. Surely he's the captain of this side.

Smith would've made a great Aussie, very gritty and courageous.

It's not just your taste in AFL teams that I admire!

Simply the best player I've ever seen, if he batted in the modern era with those tree trunks, the governing body would be installing nets at grounds to protect spectators from getting seriously hurt.

I had the absolute privilege of seeing him play a few times at AO during the B&H World Series cricket era in the 80's, the ground would literally hush when one of Grenidge or Haynes got out, and big Viv was about to make his way to the pitch.

I remember watching him during warm ups on day, he had four or five stumps lined up about 10 metres apart, and the same number of balls on the ground, in a line about 20 or so metres away. He ran along, picking up each ball and throwing in the one motion, and I reckon he hit them all.

He later put on on the roof of the old George Giffen stand that ended up on the grassed area next to Memorial Drive.

Saw him & Beefy on their "King and I" tour in the 90's, and if he would have been any cooler, he'd be a bloody Icy Pole.

GG came to our school and the year 12's were all trying to bounce him, he was getting pissed off and walked up the other end of the nets and said "next one that bowls a bouncer to me is gonna end up in them houses" (they were 120 metres away at least). Next ball "BANG" away the ball sailed over the houses.
