Don't really think it matters either way, I reckon you boys pump them regardless.

Not sure about that, usually the underdog wins

Geelong Twitter account :

Club statement | In regards to a report on Tuesday night relating to an incident during the Geelong v Port Adelaide game in Round 9 2024... 1/2

...The Club can confirm the matter was not raised with the AFL. The Club spoke directly with Port Adelaide after the match and considered the matter dealt with.
2/2

Must have been on the same email their injury list is sent on.

Going to be interesting seeing how they handle announcing one of their players has recovered from a finger injury.

They have, no longer a finger injury, it’s now “unavailable “

They can't say anything about it as there is an injunction but the alleged offence is indefensible and we won't see that player again and nor should we.

I thought the Chris Davies press conference was poor.

Get around Willie and don’t think everyone is out to get him. Don’t like what’s on social media then don’t “go home and read social media “

Had Dale sent the same message to Willie he would be having a rest for 6 weeks minimum. It seems the AFL are taking it easy on him because he's an absolute simpleton.

You would have thought Willie was the victim in all of this listening to Chris Davies

Why hasn’t the club stood Willie down whilst the AFL is investigating these new threats?

They shouldn't have held it, the AFL are still to advise the club on what is happening so he went out there with no information other than to bumble through answering the questions. Should have just postponed it.

Yeah it was a WADA suspension.
He's not a bright boy, that's for sure.

I can't see how he plays this weekend. Surely the AFL hand out a suspension in the order of 4 - 6 weeks here.

Whilst I acknowledge he and his family have been through alot, you can't go around threatening people with violence outside the game.

The iss now is that there are that many crackpots around, someone will act on it.

Could you imagine the reaction if one of the racist morons that were messaging him earlier in the year used this as an excuse?
There are plenty of people who have had generational trauma that have gone on to achieve great things in life.
Something's happened along the way with Willie, as talk to people who were involved with him at the Bays and they can't speak highly enough of him, to quote someone I spoke with last night, "he's a top bloke".
It becomes a real slippery slope when we start using "I had a shit childhood so that's why I lash out", the bloke needs a bit of time away to work out his own demons.

Stand him down until further notice by the AFL
A stern word may work for some but not repeat offenders

Interesting that 3-4 hours of discussions between AFL and Port have not come up with a conclusion which would suggest AFL want to suspend him and Port are challenging that. Just incredible that all they needed to do was sanction him for the Bulldogs incident and no one is talking about Willie all week.

Absolutely this. My understanding is the AFLPA have hands on it complicating matters further.
