100 men. Weight of numbers, just need enough sacrificial men to jump on top of the gorilla to weigh it down, and let the remaining alive men choke it out. I have not given this any thought...

I have gone with the Gorilla...

My son and I were discussing this last night and he claimed weight of numbers would win the day for the Humans.

We had set the parameters that the Humans were Average Males, height, weight etc. My argument was that while 100 average humans might have the weight of numbers but after seeing those who are in the front line, within swinging/biting reach of the gorilla, human nature is going to kick in and those average men are likely to second guess the assignment. As those less likely to "be brave" hang back, and those who have already fallen, the numbers rapidly lose their ability to work together. Space works for the Gorilla, able to pick off individuals, and as more are picked off, the easier it becomes.

It would be a close run thing, but if we are looking at average blokes I think the Gorilla gets up for the W.

If we are considering the mental capacity of the 100 men, then god no, Gorilla wins every time. I thought we are just talking physical ability.

We don't know that though. Either way.

There must be a meme about this floating around on the socials. My own son asked me this very same question last night.

After consideration, I reckon ~90 of the 100 men. Assuming that the men are determined and aren't pussy willows, then sheer weight of numbers tips the scale in their favour, although there will be collateral damage. 100 blokes could lose half of their number and still have an impact. The gorilla only has to falter once.

"Boy this gorilla is really pissed! I'm gonna jam my thumb in his butthole now! Oh yeah, that pissed it off alright!"

I walked in the house last night to be greeted by my eldest with "100 men or a gorilla?"

"Good to see you too mate, what context are we talking here?"

I'm presuming the 100 men are up for the fight probably sourced based on being volunteers who want to have a crack then it's the men fairly easily.

Given they will surround the gorilla some chopping at the legs, punching the back of the head, a coordinated strike will be too much for the gorilla to handle.

Plus, the gorilla has to get the job done within five minutes or else it's going to be completely gassed.

Albeit I will concede there may be a death or few amongst the humans to get the job done.
