Re: Things that make you laugh
Almost 3 months later. Just got another one. 03 number, a pause after answering, an accented caller, asked for me by name. Again claimed to be Paypal asking me to confirm an overseas transaction. This time she was almost begging me to log on to my bank account to see if there were any transactions. I was driving at the time and told her so. She said she'd wait while I pulled over to the side of the road and logged on to my bank! I toyed with her for a good ten minutes, until she said "I'll be terminating the call now. If you have any charges made to your account then we are not liable" and hung up.Pseudo wrote:Felt the phone buzz in the pocket. Unknown (03) number. Answered it.
Hello?
Pause.

Is this Pseudo? (my real name, mispronounced, thick accent)
Yes..
I am calling from paypal, somebody purchased $799 of gift cards on your account.
Yeah, I bought gift cards.
Uhhh... I am letting you know $799 of gift cards were bought, was this you?
Yes mate, that was me.

This is like Geelong playing Adelaide, I find no joy in either outcome.Brodlach wrote:Hearing Horses on the radio for the first time in a long time and @Booney comes straight to mind

Re: Things that make you laugh
Had 2 integral employees of mine off on A/L today, I have two that have called in sick and another two here that feel like crap and are hoping to go home.
I've managed to limp through and get a few in early from the next shift so I can release the two still struggling through thankfully.
My boss was chatting to me about sickies, I said "yeah, I left 870 hours at my old place and vowed never to be the same"
He was like "You haven't had many since you been here though have you?"
Me "Yeah, none yet". Been here nearly 20 months.

Re: Things that make you laugh
One of the female managers at work had organised to WFH today as Mondays are a bit quieter meeting wise and everyone knew it was because she was going to the food and wine festival yesterday.
Work decided a random Zoom meeting was in order and she took ages to join and looked like absolute crap. About 5 minutes in she excused her herself as she needed to throw up and then for the remaining time she sat with a spew bucket next to her laptop. The state manager saw the funny side of it and gave her the day off

Re: Things that make you laugh
I’m a ******* dickhead!
Opened a bottle of Red Saturday night, after having a few beers in the arvo with a couple of mates.
Threw a steak on the BBQ. Mrs C and Miss C are over in SA, so I’m batching for a while.
Thought to myself as I sipped away, gee that’s a nice drop! Drank about 2/3 of the bottle, leaving the rest for another day.
Knocked the remainder off last night with dinner. Just tidying up the house now, so took the empty bottles out, including this particular bottle of Red.
I drank the wrong bottle. It was a 2012 Wynns Cab Sav, which I had earmarked for Easter Sunday with a rack of lamb. So the 2022 Vintage that I intended to have, a slurper as I call them survived.
A trip to Dans now to find a suitable replacement bottle for Sunday!

Here's one for you
Mrs Jimmy doesn't drink red
I once told her your should cook with the same red you drink - not cheap $hit
I came home one night - spaghetti bolognaise with Hill of Grace
