Re: PDCA
Who else impacted this week by heat?
Grade 1 - Eyre don't get shot at outright
LO1 - CU resurgence comes to an end
LO2 - Virginia season ends after an epic final over win last week.
LO3 - Eyre gone although were probably long shot anyway
LO4 - Fitzroy miss second year in a row
LO5 - Pirates finished
LO6 - Westies done, and probably would've had them favorites this week.

Yeah i get its a long season, but if there is a way that you an play those finals the next day, i wouldn't be against it.
Especially when you have the finals set up of the LO2 down.
Play the elimination final 2 years in a row now to have no game the following week.
Fairy tails stories are ruined
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

Seriously, LO2 down should've concluded last weekend.
I can't understand the obsession with squeezing every last week out of the summer, and running as long as the other grades.
I do like the 3 week finals series though (although last couple years have been a fast).. flip side to the last two years is at least the GF features the best two sides of the year, and it's not the GF being decided (yet) by the heat.

Re: PDCA
Interesting result in Grade 2 between Angle Vale & Hazara. Been put down as a forfeit. Also noticed Angle Vale have had 10 penalty runs added. Any idea what happened?

It was Grade 1, the bits and pieces that I have heard are:
Hazara played an unregistered player (hence why the were 9 down but all out).
This player went to bowl and was stopped by the umpire, they spat the dummy and copped a set of penalty runs against them, they then basically said "f*** it, we're out of here".
I must say, they were a pretty decent bunch the first time I seen them, not so much the 2nd time, they appealed incessantly and were very mouthy. Could be a few suspensions I'm hearing.

Re: PDCA
Westies doing Westies things.
Came storming home towards the finals in their E Grade only to be stumped by the weather.
Won their D Grade premiership knocking off the highly fancied Parafield Gardens on their home deck.
Took out their C Grade premiership in a canter.
Defended 175 against Craigmore in their B Grade semi final when at one stage Craigmore were 0/55.
Defeated Virginia quite convincingly in their A Grade semi final.
Westies had plenty of contributors with the bat as they helped themselves to 7/272 then Willi just puts the ball in the spot and the batters hit it to deep mid wicket, it's poetry in motion, I'd get out the exact same way.
Virginia did look the goods for a while, twice, Bas and Lay looked solid and were forming a strong foundation and then Johnny and Al were bringing them back into the game until Justin came on after drinks with the two wickets off the first two deliveries, it was all downhill from there.
Westies vs Angle Vale in Grades 1 & 2, both games next to each other too. Gonna be interesting to see the grading next season, may aswell just have a couple of test series'.

I thought there was a year AV played Virginia recently too? Might be making that up though.

Re: PDCA
Another colourful chapter to add to the Hazara season… will be interesting to get some clarity around what ACTUALLY happened.
Allegedly one player reported twice in the one match, the same player that should have come under scrutiny many of times already this year but the opposition clubs and umpires have better things to do throughout the week and ‘she will be alright’ mantra rings throughout.
Interesting times ahead.
Congratulations to Salisbury West and Angle Vale on winning their way through to a double header at Londonderry Ave for the serious Cricket, Congratulations to Dublin and Adelaide Union on also securing the right to battle it out for the limited overs Premier Competition. Congratulations to all teams that played in the LO2’s-LO6’s Grand Finals, some ripping games and amazing results. Feeling for the Parafield Gardens lads in the LO5’s, some of those lads have been great sportsmen in their day and some still chasing their first Premiership success.

I heard the Hazara situation was an escalation between the umpire and the team, and in the end they opted to conclude the game given the umpire had reached a state of unreasonableness.
Also believe, said umpire has history in this space... having had a run in with him previously, doesn't surprise me. he's not one to back down when he gets emotional.
Hazara had no concerns with Angle Vale or the actual game, and acknowledged they were outplayed by them and gave them full credit for the win, but had enough of the umpiring.
Truth is somewhere in the middle I'm sure.
