We didn’t know until middle of last week that had fallen through and he had become available for us.. Very interesting couple of weeks coming up if all goes wellOKC! wrote:Short stay at Sails West#bleedredandblue wrote:

Almost as interesting as Dublin costing themselves top spot to avoid the units in a semi final

Re: PDCA
You are the clear favs. If you beat Adelaide Union this week we should be able to claim top spot. Then we look forward to hosting you. We have been depleted for numbers last few weeks. The sun saved us 2 weeks ago, but nothing could save us Saturday.#bleedredandblue wrote:We didn’t know until middle of last week that had fallen through and he had become available for us.. Para Vista's finals chances are shot - will they follow Dublin's lead and let NEK win to try and tip CU out of the 4?

Re: PDCA
Interesting last round of LO1 cricket coming up.
Units 6.83 points behind NEK - need to win - and probably with bonus points - to be a chance... wonder if Para Vista would send them in if they win the toss.. also wonder if Parafield will take the foot off to give NEK every chance.
Dublin have Hazara, should finish with a win and 2nd spot.

Yeah it was interesting to see Centrals throw the game on the weekend to stop Dublin from getting top spot. The Bedge wrote:Interesting last round of LO1 cricket coming up.

Re: PDCA
Salisbury West finally got the illustrious Grade 1 Womens flag after a good battle with Eye Royals.
Westies were off to a slow start and then went at a moderate pace during the middle overs then went bang in the last few to post 2/193 off their 32 overs. Royals kept up with the comparative score until around the 20th over and the required run rate skipped away a little until a late surge gave them a glimmer of hope, the fell 22 runs short though posting 5/171.
Was surprised there was no Norm Smith for the Womens GF, unless they do it at the association presentation, Westies gave one out though.

Who did SW did BOG to? Talea Atkinson 43 off 29 would have a strong case.. followed by Chelsea with 47* and 2 wickets.
Bek Imgraben 3rd in my voting with 50 and 1/12.

I was asked to decide but declined and suggested a team of 3 stalwarts select. Imgraben was awarded the honours. The Bedge wrote:Who did SW did BOG to? Talea Atkinson 43 off 29 would have a strong case.. followed by Chelsea with 47* and 2 wickets.

In other news, one of their players got food poisoning the night before so had to make herself unavailable, trying to go like for like they selected a girl who hadn't played A's for the last couple of years, she opened the bowling and was more than serviceable.Lightning McQueen wrote:I was asked to decide but declined and suggested a team of 3 stalwarts select. Re: PDCA
Another big story that came to light on the day is that Eyre are allegedly losing 5 points for the abandoned game against Craigmore earlier in the season, this now basically makes their finals quest redundant as they were well on track for an outright victory against the Huts.
It was always going to be a huge task as they'd need at least 350 runs, twenty wickets and hope that Virginia scored no more than around 220 and called it a day against The Blues, providing they got up.
Rumour also has it that Hazara only had 6 players at 1pm vs Angle Vale and they asked if AV were keen for a one dayer next week. They finally got 9 players on site just before the 1:30pm cut off and the other couple rocked up later in the day. They'll be making the trip back there for the next two weeks now anyway along with an additional Sunday.

I heard the same about Eyre vs Craigmore - wont matter anyway, Virginia will make light work of Craigmore this week.Lightning McQueen wrote:Another big story that came to light on the day is that Eyre are allegedly losing 5 points for the abandoned game against Craigmore earlier in the season, this now basically makes their finals quest redundant as they were well on track for an outright victory against the Huts.

Doesn't surprise me with Hazara - Ramadan has started, they'd all be fasting, Saturday would've been bloody hard for them in the heat, surprised they didn't forfeit.

You would think, stranger things have happened though, could put Virginia two wins away from a flag, just gotta get past that Westies mob!The Bedge wrote:I heard the same about Eyre vs Craigmore - wont matter anyway, Virginia will make light work of Craigmore this week.Lightning McQueen wrote:Another big story that came to light on the day is that Eyre are allegedly losing 5 points for the abandoned game against Craigmore earlier in the season, this now basically makes their finals quest redundant as they were well on track for an outright victory against the Huts.

2023/24 - Fitzroy "A" - Won Elimination Final, Preliminary Final cancelled due to heat.
2024/25 - Fitzroy "A" - Won Elimination Final, Preliminary Final cancelled due to heat??
Rd 18 draw vs Dublin has bit them in the butt, finishing 3rd by 0.01 points.

Re: PDCA
Is it time to start having the sunday of One day comps put aside in the case of weather heating out games for finals?

Yes.OKC! wrote:Is it time to start having the sunday of One day comps put aside in the case of weather heating out games for finals?
Deep down no one wants to win finals and flags from heated out/rained out games. Have won a couple myself from those and to be honest i don't even class them as flags.
Yes, i know the argument we came top those years so deserved it but all the memories relate back to the finals where i can remember the wickets, the runs, the celebrations etc.
We won an under 15 flag as a top side. Overnight score Penfield 8/270 dec, Eastern Park 3/7. I played for Eastern Park

If ever a flag should have been given to the other side that was it.
you would just have to tell clubs at the start of the year so they know to let players know to make themselves avaliable.

Re: PDCA
It's a no for me.. i'd rather see (no Jnr cricket anymore) some flexibility perhaps - start earlier, play reduced overs.. anything.. but Sunday cricket yuck
