Would think it is Portland as they have been struggling last few years with player numbers

Is there an outcome from this meeting (if it happened)??

I haven’t heard anything about any meeting, but I do know that numbers are a massive concern out there.
I’m hearing around 10 players is what they’re averaging at trainings most nights. I have no word as to whether this is just a commitment thing at this stage, or is because of a genuine lack of players.
Really hoping they can turn things around quickly.

It’s amazing how quickly things can change for a club if not careful.
Gaza v Portland was a matchup you were seeing in Div 1 only in 2014. Portland I believe even made finals that year, and there was genuine feeling at the time that they had a stronger culture than their local rival Pt Dist.

Merger talks with who?
Which other club is in a similar position?

Keeping mind merger talks to well beyond senior player registrations after 1 down year.
There would have to be a lot more concerns through the whole club before that gets considered.
A merger pretty much spells the end of the club as we know it (with no going back).

Mergers are a thing of the past unless you are two country towns in close proximity.

As you said, it spells the end of a club if you have to resort to merging.

Any chance the meeting had something to do with the redevelopment of the facilities? Think they've been programmed away from home for the first 9 rounds due to works.

Irrigation works, not facilities

Salisbury being 19-0 and losing the grand final has crippled them

Hee, Prior, Duncan, Gameau, Pas all jumped ship.. that’s got to hurt

Any results to speak of from any trial games?
Incredibly quiet for this time of year.
Player movements?

I have WS & Salisbury to be the big slider and I have Eastern Park & Marion being incredibly hard to beat.

WS look like they've recruited reasonably well?

Interested to see how Gaza go - from all reports they've worked overtime during the summer bringing players back to the club.

yep likewise, good numbers on the track, time the Gaza Eagles started climbing back up off the canvas, hopefully this is the start

A lot of players in (both new and returning). Needed it after last season.

A’s, B’s, and C’s should be well positioned this year. Numbers have been very good on the track.
Will definitely be up there with the other good sides this year. But won’t be able to get a proper idea until the season starts and teams get a good look at each other.
It’ll be a competitive year from what I’m hearing from other sides (Greenies too).

I got stuck in traffic out the front of Gaza last night, they had great numbers on the track.

Heard a little rumour that the almighty Christopher knapp was training and done most of the pre season at gepps cross ? But eastern park wouldn’t let him go because he would have taken to many people with him as they all hail him as king ? Any truth to this?

Watched marion today. Will be very good this year. Dominated morphies in the first half and took the foot off.
