Whilst I don't disagree that T20 has had an impact on first class batting these low scores were are seeing are mostly because of the more bowler friendly wickets and mostly because of the reconditioned Kookaburra Ball.

Wasn't aware of the change to the ball but in recent season there has been a concerted effort by curators Australia wide to spice up the pitches significantly. Ball was still doing plenty towards the end of SAs Innings after 47 overs.

Thinks back to the days when Hookes, Boof, Nobes, Bishop, Blewett, Siddons, Flipper etc played. Was as sure as the Sun coming up that if you won the toss and batted you could confidently pencil in 450+ as a 1st innings score. The pitches were roads back then. They aint now !

Obviously you didn't see my post from just over a week ago where I mentioned it after Amber Fluid asked why the batting has fallen away, I've mentioned a few times lately aswell.

And yeah before the Adelaide Oval pitch became a drop in it was the flattest pitch in Australia. Times have clearly changed.

Great for the game, it is why the international game version is called a "test", it's tests your patience, mental toughness and overall skill.

The Tasmanian's seemed to get a lot of movement off the pitch whereas the Redbacks were hooping it through the air.

The woman umpire's McSweeney call was a shocker, I would've given the benefit of the doubt to Elliott too, he was a long way forward and it was a wrong un, possibly too high and missing leg?

From behind view it looked high, but front on I thought it looked pretty good.

I thought it was swinging too much, I might be biased though.

No worries, I'm not going to judge overall on two balls that I've seen from a heightened angle.

Hard to tell sometimes with that angle.

Last day of the Test she had 5 decisions reviewed and got every single one correct

The two SA boys can pretty much say goodbye to higher honours for some time I’d think now

Probz a tad easier with the slower pace and inferior footwork, fair effort regardless though,

Gave McSweeney Todd out LBW again in the 2nd dig, couldn't get much more adjacent though this time around, a fair nut.

I wouldn't think Sweeney can be judged too harshly on this deck, fails next match and then he'd drop back with the peloton.

Yep, Hunt whenever he gets talked up he goes thru these slumps, looked all at sea first innings and that shot first ball today not great

McSweeney slowly falling down the pecking order and needs runs in last two Shield matches!
