Thats makes no sense at all really. They had an extra trial game other teams don't get to refine the way they play and instead they wanted to waste the chance.

What is he going to do the in the pre season cup or whatever its called.

Bombers & Dogs had a game on the weekend, Bulldogs decided to run with Crossley in the ruck to see if he's worth a SSP spot. Clearly that's not going to be their game plan but it's what the preseason is for.

I could have told them he's not AFL quality before the game even started, but each to their own.

West Coast beat Richmond by 6 goals.

Ralph-Smith pinged a hammy. Lalor left the ground with a head knock (jaw?).

I'm sure the weekly match sim they would complete at this time of the year would be enough for them to have a guide on how it's going to look

I'd love to see no pre-season games and have a 2 week bye in the middle of the year and have a SA v VIC State of Origin game one week and the indigenous team v the other states combined the other week. Will never happen though but it would be good. Some of my best footy memories are going to Footy Park watching us vs the Vics. Back when there was a real pride to represent your State. It's piss weak that the clubs don't support it.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

The 1984 game was epic, even though I got lost from my group as a 9 year old prior to the game starting. I found the rest of the group after the game finished as we always had a tradition of seeing who could collect the most football budgets after the game.

The five of us would then walk back to where the old butcher shop was so the old man could pick us up and we'd sit in the back of the ute for the trip home.

The draw backs of becoming a fully professional league with massive salaries. Not playing for fun anymore.

As much as I hate comparing our game to the one where you run in one direction to score but throw the ball in the opposite direction, I am jealous of their State of Origin set up, blokes that are team mates on the weekend go out to destroy each other mid-week in these battles, it makes no sense but neither does the game, it is the only time I'll watch the game though.

While I believe it should be different opposition I thought Fremantle fit the bill. A team that can draw a decent crowd that just missed the finals. I reckon the Indigenous boys would beat anyone. If you play 'all stars' oppositions it would be a mockery, you'd get more pullouts than a convent. If you play a gun side they'll be underprepared, if you play an also ran they'd get flogged by more than Freo did.

The game wasn't really about Fremantle but it was obvious it meant more to the indigenous side. But what a hit out for Freo. The intensity and pace was well ahead of the match at Western Oval. I thought the game was a success. We got to see the indigenous lads play together and play some exciting football, we got a real game, 30k turned up and the Dockers had a top hit out.

The rep footy that they have in rugby league is fantastic. As with rugby union and soccer, the clubs don't really whinge about rep teams all that much. Australian rules is very much the exception to the rule.

Even if the AFL followed suit it would be bruise free footy.

Easier for the NRL as there really are only two states involved so the passion is there.

If NSW was to dominate the concept would fall over. They had a decent run just before Qld's extended run and crowds were beginning to drop off. It has to mean something to 'big brother' (for want of a better term) or she's over.

Richmond number 1 pick, Sam Lalor, fractured his jaw in a practice game yesterday. Ginbey pushed him into a jumping defender.

He probably won’t play round 1, a hit for SC players

That was really piss weak from Ginbey, a bit of a shame as I really like the lad.

Is that reportable? Not sure how much difference there is if he socked him.
