Well it’s hard to get excited looking at our track record plus the injuries we already have. Going to take several years to get rid of the stench of Dodoro and I can see us dropping off a bit this year. Only have to drop a couple more games than last year and a couple of teams around us like the Crows to improve and we could easily slide

I like the Carr inheritance plan.

At the end of the day whether Hinkley gets sacked or mutually goes what coach out there is that far ahead of the pack they are a must have. Even if Clarkson / Hardwick wanted the gig (which obviously wouldn't happen) they're not miles ahead of the rest.

Might as well work with the bloke you have seen in action for a while that your happy with. The transition should be pretty smooth and it doesn't mean Carr doesn't have or won't bring in his own ideas.

I think there should be more of it rather than play the lottery of the blokes who interview really well, or can talk the talk but not deliver etc.

Club announced a $4 million profit for last year

The Adelaide Football Club recorded an operating surplus of $4.064m for the AFL financial year, ending October 31, 2024.

Strong and steadfast support from members and supporters, as well as corporate and hospitality partners, once again underpinned the Club’s healthy result.

Key items which contributed to the financial performance include:

• An increase of 7 percent in total revenue to $62.06m;
• Debt free position;
• Membership rose 10 percent to a record 75,477;
• Average home game attendance of 40,821 excluding Gather Round;
• And full investment in men’s and women’s salary and soft caps;
After allowing for depreciation and amortisation, as well as government funding and donations in relation to the construction of their new Thebarton-based headquarters, the Crows recorded an abnormal comprehensive surplus of $15.326m.

Crows Chairman John Olsen gave credit and thanks to the players, coaches, staff, corporate and hospitality partners and members alike, adding the strong financials were the result of a true team effort.

“Our members give so much of themselves to the Club and they are an integral part of the fabric, and they’re always at the forefront of our thinking,” Olsen said.

“Being profitable is crucial to our pursuit of sustained success on and off the field, and it allows us to appropriately invest in all areas of our operations but especially in our men’s and women’s players and elite football programs.

“We want our community-focussed initiatives to be impactful and we’re always looking at ways to enhance our match day experience, and better connect with those who are most passionate about our Club.

“To our many partners, both hospitality and corporate but in particular major sponsor Toyota and principal partner Hungry Jack’s, as well as AFLW co-major partners BHP and Workskil, we greatly appreciate everything you contribute.”

With construction on its new $100m state-of-the-art training, administration and community facility now well underway, Olsen said the Club would be taking on debt and the need for a strong balance sheet had never been more important.
