Not good for Inglis, but a blessing for Carey getting the opportunity to bat up the order and actually be able to settle in / build and innings.

Green will take his spot

Green not available for sometime, read somewhere he may make the last Shield game if he is lucky
It was a topic of discussion in the ABC yesterday as to when Green would play. Last shield game as you mentioned and play as a batsman only

On day 1 last Test, Australia were 2/330; so to be 3/330 this time after Sri Lanka were competitive up until the loss of the third wicket in this innings, puts a full stop to a number of things being said for a while - Smith should retire; Carey if not before, keeping Inglis out of the keepers spot; people calling for Lyons spot even though he was the best of the spinners in the India series; Khawaja another useful knock...this has been a nice home away from home so far.

15 mins over time today, Aus bowled 7.4 overs in the first half an hour of the day and then only 7 of Sri Lankas 80 overs were not bowled by the spinners so it's not as if Sri Lanka bowled much quicker than Australia.

That's because people are too reactive, impatient, negative and love to complain as soon as one of the players or the team has a bad result.

Not that hard to be a genius after the fact though … plus, it must be said, there’s more fight in a carp once it’s hooked than this SL team at home.

Can’t fault the Aussies, have done what they’ve need to so far.

This innings by Carey is ridiculously good when you consider for the best part of two days he has been on the ground with huge amounts of concentration due to the spinning ball. He’d be mentally exhausted at days end.

Well done Alex, stick it up the naysayers
