Entering that last over, I think we could have ended up at the break anywhere between 1st and 5th

With that final excursion from the crease by Meredith, it ensured we are 1st and not 3rd

Amazingly we have 3 in the Test team, and are first in both comps - something to savour until we aren't!

On the back of an incredible turn out and result in the Adelaide Test. South Australian cricket is at an all time high! I blame Premier Cricket!

I can nominate one. There's been two tied matches in Shield cricket. The second was in 1976/77 when Queensland needed two to win with three wickets in hand and was run out in three consecutive deliveries going for it. This was the second match of the three that put David Hookes' name in lights to be picked for the Centenary Test:

Crowd for the match 6707 with Gate receipts of $3657 Remarkably probably still better than todays figures. Certainly the crowd figure and even the money

i saw hookesy make the first of his 5 tons, 163 out of a total of 290 against the vics

just looking thru the 76/77 season and we were absolute tripe, rkn we won the shield in 75/76 which makes it even worse

Australian cricket’s domestic One-Day Cup competition winners will lift the Dean Jones Trophy from this summer onwards after cricket.com.au's #NameTheCup campaign reached its conclusion.

The perpetual trophy for the annual limited-overs tournament first introduced as a 40-over competition in 1969-70 has been named in honour of Dean Jones after Cricket Australia endorsed the naming recommendation put forward by the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame Committee.

In addition to the naming of the competition's trophy, the committee also named the Player of the Final award the Michael Bevan Medal to acknowledge Bevan’s incredible record and contribution to the limited-overs format.

The Dean Jones Trophy and Michael Bevan Medal will be presented for the first time at the Final on March 1.
