Who owns those properties today?
Always vacant when we are here in January which seems weird?
Rapid Bay is divided in two, all the land on the North side of the creek is council land, the land on the South side is all owned by the farmer Croser .Only people who are working for Adelaide Brighton Cement can live use those houses. So they've all been basically empty for over 30 years. Croser was p!ssed when he found out the 20 odd houses on the North side were freehold when BHP sold up in 1981 to ABC. My grandparents brought a beach facing house for $28K in 1982 and sold it for $125K in the late 90s
it's a shame. it will be interesting to see what happens when he falls off the perch as his kids have all moved away. One of the houses on the South side next to the school (so not facing the beach) recently sold for about $900K.
My grandparents old house which is basically a 3BR and 1 Bath with an external toilet under the back verandah ( the 2nd house from the jetty), will go for at least $1.5 Mill if it was put on the market today.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
