A 19 year old on the debut poked the bear and made a half ton in this current series He took on the worlds best bowler Why not- Bumrah averaged about 19 before that game Might as well upset Bumrah, being nice to him dosent work
Should be some good quality posting here tomorrow when Konstas makes his first Test century just after lunch. Perhaps he could fist pump and raise his bat a metre or two away from Kohli
Hope he goes with some more chat to Bumrah in the first over or two tomorrow.

Sarwan said something very nasty to Glen Ooh Ahh Mcgrath a champion bowler The date 12/5/2003 It riled up McGrath and The Ozzie team A day later WI created a world record chase of 7/417 batting last Mcgrath took 1/50 Sarwan made 105
Didn’t Dean Jones ask Ambrose to take his wrist band off under Borders watch.
Yes he did, it was in the first final of the World Series Cup in 1992-93
Deano came in at 1-41 chasing 247. He asks Ambrose to take off his sweatbands Ambrose then goes ballistic and we’re all out 160 runs later Ambrose takes 4 wickets gets five for the match.
Next final we get rolled. Ambrose takes 4 wickets, West Indies win the trophy Next test in Adelaide we’re 1-0 up in the Frank Worrell trophy as AB and Richie R toss the coin, Ambrose takes 10 wickets we lose by one run and he get MOTM
Off to Perth next, he takes nine wickets for **** all we lose by an innings and there goes Frank he gets MOTM and MOTS
In three weeks 4 games he basically takes 26 wickets st under 10.
Within a year Deano plays his last game for Australia….
So yeah it’s reallllll smart to sledge good players!!!
Yeah because that was the only times the windies beat the Aussies and Ambrose performed well against Australia.
I don’t really blame Jones for asking Ambrose to take his wrist bands off though. He was wearing white wrist bands and bowling with a white ball. There’s no way that should had been allowed.
As for the Adelaide Test loss….. Well Daryl Hair to this day needs a bullet for that final decision.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

The Australians of Waugh Pontings era had simple rule that you didn’t sledge the likes of Lara, Tendulkar Akram and Ambrose you know the jets like Bumrah as is now. We sledge Ambrose twice and While both Jones and S Waugh won the battle, Australia lost the war ( that one day game and that Test)
I got no real problem with konstas having a yap but FFS choose your target!

Good to know someone understands.
Like others had said, being a nice guy to Bumrah seemed to be biting us on the arse a fair bit as well
Wasn’t like Bumrah was going at 23’s until Konstas come along and all a sudden is averaging 19 a wicket now
And don’t worry a lot of the old adages are dying by the day like a test opener doesn charge down the pitch first ball. Times have changed brother.
If we still listened to old adage we would never have got to witness Smith or Bumrah because their techniques weren’t for test cricket. Just because some old blokes being saying it for years doesn’t make it right.

All 5 pitches played on so far have been favourable for pace bowlers generally throughout the matches. Spinners have hardly got a look in. Been a few great tons against the odds but generally the batters from both sides are bruised, battered and devoid of confidence with some falling by the wayside and career ending as well probably? (Rohit, Khawaja, Marsh) . McSweeney should get another chance. Kholi has been exposed and the end is near.
Been trending this way for a little while (since 2020/2021) in both Shield cricket and test cricket because of the pitches like you mentioned and mainly the reconditioned Kookaburra Ball with their reinforced seam and extra lacquer. The ball changes is having a significant impact on batting in Australia.

So do I
I hope he goes big and if I was him I would be have “dialogue” with Siraj. Hare Krishna Viral, and others to get them off their game.
I wouldn’t be risking getting Bumrah going from normal Curtly areas of a wicket every 9 overs at 20 down to a wicket every 4 overs at under 10 like curtly did back in late January 1993.
M Waugh just summed it up beautifully.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

We dont know yet if Bumrah bowls better being fired up, i say its worth a shot because being nice hasnt worked. Its a small sample size of two balls and Khawaja is a bunny these days. What we do know is he didnt handle Konstas coming at him in the first innings in Melbourne. Have we been that bereft of quality fast bowlers in the world that Bumrah is being rated higher than the great West Indians. I know id rather face him than any of them. The Aussies havent played good fast bowling well for a long time, probably since Ponting. The pitches are favoring the bowlers more now.

LOL, Bumrah could have had Konstas out 8 times if he wasn’t KOTD in that first innings.
There are no winners when trying to compare players from different eras, it’s an impossible task. There is no doubt Bumrah is a world class bowler, where he sits in history is for another day.
Australia are 1/9, and Konstas has put enormous pressure on himself when he didn’t need to. If he gets out early then we’re 2 for FA and he looks like a dick, and the last Test has shown that Bumrah isn’t a worse bowler fired up.
Anyway, we’ll going to get some answers in a few minutes.
The worlds best bowler , and one of the calmest , should be dominating a teenager with a extra large BIG ego IF they dueled in a 5 Test series, over 10 innings , I would expect the champ to win about 7 or 8 off 10 encounters
The sample size Bumrah v Konstas this series stands at 1-1 with 2 innings left If it ends Bumrah 3-1 thats expected- but more of expectation is that the dont poke the bear advocates will be in force If it ends 2-2 then its a decent win for Sammy If Sammy wins 3-1 ....

Im tipping 3-1 Bumrah
Agree mal, I’m expecting Konstas to fail, but I think there is definitely enough to work with there that a refined version is a decent test cricketer.
