Oh ok, i wasn't aware of that. All media reports indicate the club was still weighing up their options.

Presumably this has only happened in the last day or so.

Can't believe they're keeping Giles.

They have only lodged their final list today. Deadline was at 2pm for all clubs to get into the AFL, so it went in this morning. A few other clubs have had late changes, with Doyle announcing his retirement from Sydney and Longmuir from Freo.
With all clubs in today, then get a much clearer idea of the actual draft order and how many selections there will be next month.

According to AFL web-site, they don't yet have details of Port's delistings, if any

Why? He improved a lot this year. You dont give 17 year old ruckmen two years to make it and dump them when they have improved. He'll get two more seasons, mark it down. Hes only 19. Same with Minson.

Port - Mahoney, Symes and Wakelin the three to go, as the rules require. Grose retained as a second year rookie.

Adelaide - Bode, Hinge, Hudson, Mattner, Messen, Perrie, Pfeiffer, Ricciuto and Torney all departed since end of season.
Gallman promoted from rookies, Walker promoted from scholarship and Moran and Symes arriving as trades.
Mcleod also now qualifies as a veteran outside the list.

Yep, they can delist more, but all clubs had to have a minimum of three spots available by today.

yes you are correct, the second list lodgement is due on 16th November, which is 8 days before the National draft, at this point each club will need to be in a position to draft a minimum of 3 players to their senior list, in Port's case, they will need to delist at least one additional player prior to the 16th Nov for the club to meet the AFL requirements.

the final list lodgement is due on the 30th Nov, 6 days after the national draft, this gives all clubs a final opportunity to review their lists, review who is available in the pre-season draft and make the necessary final changes to their list

this is why I have said previously, for the crows, maybe Doughty and Jericho are not safe just yet

SD, with Port's 2 retirements (Wakelin, Mahoney), plus the trading of Symes for a pick, the club now has the required 3 off their list now so could go into the draft. As i've mentioned earlier on this thread though, the language coming from the PAFC is that further delistings may yet still occur.

My apology, you are correct.......

my main point was that this is the first lodgement only, and all clubs have two more opportunities to delist players

Yes, no problems. I think both Adelaide clubs will further study their options a bit longer before deciding whether to cut further players from their list. I guess it allows the club to put implied pressure on players on the "fringe" to ensure their fitness and attitude dont relax during the off season, leading up to when the final list lodgement is due.

Yes but Macca he's simply no good. Get back to me this time next year when he's cut. He might have showed signs of improvement but his ruckwork is still terrible and he does little around the ground.

They are BOTH safe. Doughty is contracted and Jericho had surgery not long back so he could be right for pre-season.

It staggers me how these duds remain on the list, especially Jericho. How you can remain on the list when you show no heart is beyond me. Good call, Neil.

Pity the same luxuries couldn't be afforded to one Darren Pfeiffer.

I would ask the qquestion, in regards to player surgery, do the clubs have a duty of care to enable the provide support for the surgery regardless of whether they intend to delist a player or not.....

The injury was suffered while the player was under contract

Yes but the article concluded by saying he'll resume training with his teammates in November, or something along those lines.

And for your information, it was confirmed in the paper today that the Crows would make no further delistings.
