Re: Adelaide
Had a recruiter come to my lads junior club 10 years ago, he spoke about his team having social media watchers watching potential recruits and their mates accounts. You might not have a beer in your hand, but if you're at a mates party on Friday night at 11pm are you really getting ready for the game Saturday the best you can? Opened up the eyes of two kids in particular, one has been on an AFL list.Eagles2014 wrote:Don't be surprised if Crows don't pick him up - they are really worried about his attitude - loves to party and drinks too much, not good recipe at his age. A few years ago, the U16 state team boys were told there'd be recruiters on the plane up to the Gold Coast, in the hotel you're staying at and probably at the theme parks on your day off.Booney wrote:Had a recruiter come to my lads junior club 10 years ago, he spoke about his team having social media watchers watching potential recruits and their mates accounts. You mean they were being educated and measured against standards even before they were drafted? Things they might have considered to be private?!wenchbarwer wrote:A few years ago, the U16 state team boys were told there'd be recruiters on the plane up to the Gold Coast, in the hotel you're staying at and probably at the theme parks on your day off.Booney wrote:Had a recruiter come to my lads junior club 10 years ago, he spoke about his team having social media watchers watching potential recruits and their mates accounts. I know for a fact that from U16s onwards, all of the state kids have sessions in media, behaviour, etc. The parents sit in on some sessions too. The SANFL clubs will also run programs, switched on talent managers will pull kids aside and give them a subtle warning if a kid is heading off the rails.

Re: Adelaide
Because since u8's he has had wind blown up his ass about how good he is and how he is going to play AFL one day, then he basically gets told by the Crows 12 months out that they are going to take him. A leader at the club is not happy with what he saw this year around his behaviours.amber_fluid wrote:

Re: Adelaide
At 191cm he isn't a key forward, therefore his endurance is going to very important as he will be expected to play high up the ground.tigerpie wrote:He's a key forward so better to be big going in to the system and getting a good conditioning program in to drop some excess body fat
A key forward going in thin and having to put on bulk takes a while (thilthorpe) and they get injured easier.
I'm sure Burgess can't wait to get him in preseason.
He can play so hopefully he survived.

I went through that system with my lad in the late 2000's.wenchbarwer wrote:I know for a fact that from U16s onwards, all of the state kids have sessions in media, behaviour, etc. The parents sit in on some sessions too. They were super hot on behaviour while they were in the GC.
A few of the boys went and dyed their hair and got told to go back and get dyed their proper hair colours.
They were all 15 and just young immature boys having fun playing a game they loved.
Put most of them off playing at the top level as they took all the fun out of life way too young.

I can't quite work out how the wing represents the shape of South Australia.
Other than that, I think it looks fantastic.

Meh..... as someone who still thinks footy logos peaked in the 70's with the introduction of the SANFL cartoon logo's I hope they didn't invest too much time and energy into this.
