That’s only because you handed them a slide rule and a copy of your thesis instead of candy.

Bulldust. I wouldn't waste a perfectly good slide rule on some unappreciative little brat...

Here's me thinking "slide-rule" was a euphemism
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

One of my daughters is an early childhood teacher, and her first job after graduating was a country contract.

When she came home one weekend for some reason she bought an abacus as a prop for the classroom.

Anyway, she decided to fly instead of driving back, so at the airport, the said mentioned abacus was in her backpack as it was going through the security scanner. The dude operating the scanner checked the bag about 5 times, zooming it back and forth before finally saying … jeez, haven’t seen one of them for a while.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Yep it’s the only thing I don’t bother comparing or shopping around for.
Heck I’ve never used the bloody things(thankfully I guess)

We've been with GU Health for 20 years+
Still gets me how it covers us for birth, IVF, weight surgery
Plus no reduction when the children came off

I spoke with Health Partners yesterday
Asked the question about reduction for the children coming off
"You dont pay to put them on so you dont get a reduction when they come off"
That's pretty $hite underwriting IMO - they should charge

With GU, I have to take Gold to get cataracts and joint replacement so I also get birth, IVF & weight surgery that I dont need

I know its not easy to comply with health + retail product legislation but surely one of these funds can build a model that allows you to select what cover you want (eg) like a Business Pack in general insurance

I've got my father's ivory slide rule.
He was an engineer and was given it by his parents when he graduated.
I dont bring it out in case someone notices what its made of

I certainly pay for my 2 kids
It shows the amount as extra in the monthly charge separate to the wife and I

You generally have to pay extra for dependents if they are not full time students. If they are full time students then they are included automatically on a family policy.

I’ve only got 1 of my 3 still at Uni, so I make the other 2 pay the difference of the extra premiums I have to pay to keep them on the family policy, which is way, way cheaper than them having their own policies.

They can stay in the family policy until they turn 31, as long as they aren’t married or de-facto.

My 2 are both in high school and I pay for them.
We’re with Bupa
I might ring them and check.
The total price we pay is comparable to others anyway so maybe Bupa list theirs differently?

Have been with Police Health since the year dot, top table coverage, first as a single, then added the Mrs when we got married and the kids as they come along. (3 of them)
Kids have now all grown and moved on and have their own Health coverage, Police Health like most others wont change the premiums, have had arguments with them as to why i am paying the same for 2 as i was for 5, they said thats just the state of play and if i dont like it to cancel the coverage and take out 2 singles coverages, on chewcking that out was cheaper to stay as i was. It just a total rip off, in saying that have got my moneys worth over the yeaaars with the kids and sporting injuries and a number of claims of my own of late
Life is about moments, Create them

Our local cafe organizes a map either available in hard copy in the shop or through their Facebook page for houses that are offering trick or treats, they suggest between 5pm and 6:30pm for the event. Our neighborhood was literally crawling with families dressed up, laughing, having fun and enjoying a night out together.

Struggle to see how that could give anyone the shits and I'm the Xmas grinch.

I have a rather boisterous dog (boxer), and as such I don't put out any Halloween decorations. Haven't had a knock in years.

It's not like I hate it, I could just do without the big fella getting riled up every time someone knocks on the door

You’re all miserable old farts!
I had a couple of groups of kids knock on my door.
Gave them lollies the wife had already bought in anticipation
2 minutes of my time gave the kids a smile
