Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
As far as I know it is still legal. First cousins can marry. One of my paternal Aunts aproached my mother and tried to link me up with her daughter when I was in my late teens. My mother said "no" and told me later. At the time the girl had been propositioning me in their woodshed and I had walked out after saying "But you're my cousin!"dedja wrote:Is that legal?Lightning McQueen wrote:Two of my cousins got married a few weeks ago too

Microsoft downgrading my home puter to Windows 11 (again) even though I have deselected automatic update etc
I upgrade back to Windows 10:
"Feedback on why you dont want to upgrade" I hope they enjoy my feedback on their systems, their ignoring my no auto update + some good Australian language about what I think about Bill Gates and them
They completely deleted Google Chrome and actually stated that I am required to use MS Edge; that "it is the same technology but with the MS security."

Disengaged Edge (you cant delete it) and downloaded Chrome
Another feedback message: Rinse and repeat feedback

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
May patience is running out.. 18 months ago had a young lady come to work - was supposed to be my "assistant" and help take workload off me, especially the admin type tasks so I could focus on other stuff.
That lasted all of a couple months before she was shifted sideways into an easier role because she couldn't handle it.
Since found out earlier this year when she was employed, she was employed on far more money than me.. to be my assistant! Anyway that shits be but not the end of the world.. what shits me is the liberties she takes with when she comes to work - Mondays works from home so she can watch F1.. then any other day of the week when she's feeling stressed / tired / irritable etc she takes off.
We only work 9 day fortnights as it is.
I've been keeping a chart last few months - and since August she's come to work on average of 1 day per week.
I'm now being handballed some of her work because she cant complete it.. every team meeting "Oh i'm soooo busy you know, this and that.. bits and bobs.. so much random stuff just popping up, struggling for time".
GIRL DOES NOTHING!

That's a formal request to the management team for a meeting to discuss, not a water cooler chat that one.

Any edict on how many days in the office per week?
Seems quite a few places are now talking minimum attendance standards.

We have a written policy that says the 'majority' of our days need to be in the office.wenchbarwer wrote:Any edict on how many days in the office per week?

Staff took that to mean over a 4 week period, as long as you had 11 in, 9 out, you were fine.
But our manager is a d!ck and he blocks it if you have more than 1 day working remotely in any single week.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Ours is supposed to be over a fortnight 7x days office, 2x days work from home max with approval.
Problem is, our entire team is Brisbane based, so there really is no one here to keep tabs on it. I've raised it a few times.. but really is a bit like out of sight out of mind.

The city is the busiest it has been since pre-covid, I think that while there has been some WFH restrictions from employers, some people are back enjoying the company of their work mates, both socially and how it helps with their workday.
