I'm sure other clubs would pipe up about a possible points reduction if that were the case. Interesting scenario, especially given the group of ex-Pear players forming at Dizzies. Imagine if they added Boak after 2025, Finlayson after 2026, etc.
There's nothing stopping any club from doing that - if they can fit the 4pts in their list.
Just looking at the angle of the top side winning flags year after year with no limit on recruiting. Lower divisions obviously get promoted and therefore face tougher opposition, but where is the restraint for any Div 1 club to discourage a monopoly?

But for D1 has had 7 different premiers in the last decade (and has had premiers subsequently relegated to D2)
Wouldn't have thought many country comps have that level of competitive tension.
Between points and salary cap D1 in particular seems to be doing a pretty good job of self regulating from a competitive balance standpoint.
Yeah, I get all that, just playing Devil's advocate for PD becoming a master's team for the Pear and winning all the flags, that's all

No different for all Div 1 sides that align with sanfl clubs
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

15 points isn't a lot - and if you retain all your players, then adding an ex-AFL player is only allowing you to add 1 players. You'd have to keep your squad together for 2-3 years before being able to top up again.
2024: 5 x 3 pts = 15 2025: 5 x 2 pts = 10 + 4 (AFL) = 14

Lycett was 5 points because he played predominantly AFL in his previous 2 seasons. A SANFL player who does the same is 4 points. I say well done to them for bringing in the likes of Gray and Lycett the last few years. Adds to the profile and quality of the league. PD’s run to the flag was also down to how they managed Lycett. They saved him from major ruck duty until later in the season and he was dominant when it counted.

Thing with Districts is they were not and are not reliant on just those players, they have a damn talented list and very well managed and coached

A Club could potentially do it every 2 years, 'cos players drop an extra point after that. ie. a 3-point player is worth 2 points next season, then 0 points in the season after that (providing he's played 20 games for the Club).

Free market conditions work PAOC were in the last 3 GFs but was one game off finishing bottom this year. There's nothing wrong with having a player pipeline for, say, a 5 year rolling period That's just great footy club administration - it doesn't just happen
Its been a bit easier for districts with alot of these players are long time mates who just happen to be bloody good footballers. A brand spanking new footy club coming up and should be close to ready for the 2026 season. Away teams will have to change in a transportable the coming season as away rooms are part of the demolition.

Somewhat of a shame, loved the old PD clubrooms. Had a good feel of old school authenticity about them while still being reasonably comfortable.
Sure it will be great, but can't shake that all these new clubroom developments lose a bit of the soul of what preceded them.

Biggest question............
Will there be a line down the centre of the carpet to separate the Semi Centrals and Exeter vets?
