I know lose Houston and next years 1st rounder but the guys on Fox are saying they don't really rate Ports first round pick next year as being that high a value

This years draft rated far more highly than next year.

Tasmania will be in the one after.

Odd position to take considering a ball hasn't been bounced yet for season 2025.

It could be anywhere between pick 1 and pick 18

Spin it however you like, IMO Port are the biggest losers in this trade.

The keen draft watchers reckon the top end talent next year will be the equal of this years. Very compromised though as I think I saw that a heap of Northern academy kids projected to go highly

And according to Big Phil on the Bays Supporters Fb page, Ivan will be hitting it to Tom Lewis as the "go to"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Effectively Houston and next years first for Lukosius, Richards, 13 and 29 this year.

Not a particularly good outcome. Pressure on the two recruits and the recruiters with the two picks.

In the AFL "Futures" comp earlier this year the 4 NSW/Qld clubs had 16 academy kids play and 3 father sons in Vic.

If we finish top 2 ie play in grand final next years 1st will be 17 or 18 before comp picks free agency , should be able pick up some quality players with 13, 26 and 36 in this years ( as I have said previously ) supposed deep super draft

Houston is a match winner and goal kicker.
Lukosius is not!
No idea about Richard’s but he’d wanna be able to kick 30+ goals next year for this trade to break even at least.

Lukosious is a goal kicker ( kicked a couple of bags of 5 for Gold Coast ) agree at this stage not a match winner but given will probably get to play as permanent forward with Port may in future become one. Richards yes will need to perform to break even as I rated Owies who had kicked 30 goals in each of the last 2 years as a better option than him

In all seriousness what does Lukosius offer that Lord, Esava, Marshall or Finlayson don’t?
All good average players but nothing more
I don’t see how it strengthens their side losing Dixon and now Houston

You would hope they get rid of the long high bomb to the hotspot, got plenty of lead up forwards now, have to play to their strengths. Be interesting to see how Kenny reacts.
