Reserves ladder really something as well.
Reasonable chance that 11 wins might still land a team in 6th which must be pretty rare

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
Huge weekend of games. Only the PAC v SHOC game that cant shape Finals, Home Ground advantage or relegation. The other 4 has plenty on the line. Will be very interesting to see just how desperate some teams are.
- SHOC to get the better of PAC and need the win going into finals. If they head in coming off 4 straight losses it might be straight sets in 2 consecutive years. They should get the train back on track this week
- Port should beat SPOC but with nothing on the line and their history of round 18 underperforming, stranger things have happened. If results don't go their way - SPOC can still be relegated despite beating GFC last week.
- GG will beat TTG and get their home final and send their NE rivals to div 2 but i fancy iit wont be easy
- The Rams will bounce back over PNU and keep their Undefeated streak of 19 home wins in a row alive.
- Broadies v Brighton. The winner stays in div 1 and its goodbye to the loser. I wouldn't have a clue who wins this. Broadies maybe at home can arrest the trend of one shit quarter and get the chocolates
Will be fascinating to see it unfold

Question to ask - Has the team that has played Port Districts the last couple of years has been sitting in the relegation zone has won the game and avoided being Relegated?

Dizzies have nothing to play for in the last round so I wouldn't be surprised if SPOC get the win here

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
Broadies need a full game, this season they have had at least 6 goaless last 1/4's and in fact think the scoring figures are something like 55-60 goals to 29 in last 1/4's against them, apart from one game against Glenunga they have been in the mix at 3/4 time, I'm tipping they will be up and about this weekendwristwatcher wrote:Huge weekend of games. Sigal named for the Crows and Otis Carthy not playing for Brighton
Wozza not named for the Crows and the team nearly at full strength
Broadies will win and avoid relegation....and possibly even sneak into 7th place

Glenunga have named their strongest team of the season. Scary proposition for a team that's 16-1.....

Their B grade has 17 players in it who have played A grade this year or last. They are tracking OK.
Complete guess work here but i think Stinky Linky will go to Nunn and Jack Scott will go to Brad McKenzie to curtail the Falcon weapons.
Whilst looking with the Falc lens on i just have no idea who to goes to the Big Bear. Not sure anyone in the league can go with Abe. I haven't seen a lot of him since he left school but id give Viney a crack. They have to try something or you can lock him in for another 30 and 3. Knowing Nathan i doubt he will flirt with form going into a week off but if he throws Davis up forward he may actually win the Goalkicking medal being only 2 goals off the lead.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 1
I know this should be on the women’s thread but Gary McIntosh what an absolute legend. Has there been a person in South Australian Football that has had a greater impact in local footy.
PNU have been so fortunate to have had Macca involved in their footy club.
I still remember playing against him. We were around 25 goals down and our full back who already had 9 kicked on him by Macca was still sledging him while he was about to kick his 10th and Macca just flipped him the bird and kicked the goal.
But on a serious note I couldn’t think of a greater person to have had such a massive impact on their footy club.
I heard that Macca still is involved with the juniors aswell as coaching the women. I could be wrong

Putting it bluntly IMO he is the PNU footy club, remember when he was coaching the PNU seniors years ago and my lad was playing juniors at Broadies you would play PNU on the Sunday and Macca was there from the getgo cooking the BBQ for the juniors and supporters, always up for a chat as well, total respect for the man for what he has done in Football, seniors and juniorshollywood7477 wrote:I know this should be on the women’s thread but Gary McIntosh what an absolute legend. Said the same thing yesterday. What he’s done for PNU in the last 20 years is beyond belief. If there is a more admired footballer on field in SA in the last 40 years I’d like to hear it. Off field it appears the same..locky801 wrote:Putting it bluntly IMO he is the PNU footy club, remember when he was coaching the PNU seniors years ago and my lad was playing juniors at Broadies you would play PNU on the Sunday and Macca was there from the getgo cooking the BBQ for the juniors and supporters, always up for a chat as well, total respect for the man for what he has done in Football, seniors and juniorshollywood7477 wrote:I know this should be on the women’s thread but Gary McIntosh what an absolute legend. Its a solid resume.
Coached his first Div 1 A grade Woman's flag on the weekend. That makes 6 Senior A grade Premierships in the 20 years. You can throw in 4 more GF's on top of that. Has Coached Juniors every year and volunteers his time in every capacity.
For all his on field success its the msn off the field that is the most impressive. I cant even count the favours, appearances and support he has given me in the last 2 decades. He is a genuine legend.
I stood outside the theatre in Semaphore in 2012 as he was doing the Guernsey presentation for the State Gaelic Under 18s that night. (again for no charge). We had just lost the Div 3 Prelim to SMOSH and the C3 Prelim to CBC. He told me that night he was leaving and going to where it all started at Hope Valley....that was until the wife and kids said "good luck we are not coming!" and the rest is history. Back to Back Premierships the following 2 years and the ascension to a Div 1 powerhouse.
What makes Garry so great is it is all about family and his Mrs runs the canteen or the bar as has his Daughter, his son is a great Junior Coach and life member as a player, his Sister did the merch, his brother in law a junior coach and his late Father was always there supporting them all, telling it like it was.
in summary....yeah he goes alright.

Considering he lives about a 45 minute drive from PNU makes his involvement even better.
