Knapp (EP) Miegel (AL) J. Ellis (F)
McCormick-Smith (EP) Henriks (STP) McInerney (RW)
Milera (EP) Rusby (F) Alesiani (STP)
Keenihan (S) Sandercock (IF) Hutchinson (H)
Schutz (H) Prior (S) McMullen (EP)
Tanczos (IF) Babiak (H) Russell (F)
A couple unlucky blokes who probably havent played enough but may have by round 18 - Hee (S) Matthews (IF) McGee (EP)
Bench filled up with mids like a normal All-Australian team, struggled to find a couple defenders and a big forward line but a lot of goals in that lot
Happy for feedback or abuse
Good side, but Gameau > Miegel. He's got to be in there. Barmby, Puddy and Goodes would have claims, and Jackson Thompson was good against us, as was the young kid in the ruck (Sherrah?)
Brandon Rigney has had a better year than Terrel, but not sure either would warrant a look in.
Dylan Richardson was very good against us.
Others who have been impressive: Wayne Hutchinson (H), Maison Warner (EP), Sean Gibbs (StP)
*edit* didn't see Hutchinson in the BP.

Good luck picking a medal winner also - lot of quality at times - Prior a stand out followed by Knapp and Mansell. Hee will poll well when he plays, Tanczos, Russell, Richardson, Henriks.
Forwards have kicked big bags this year so may steal votes.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Good to see still some interest in the remaining games
Looks like top spot will be decided with Eastern Park hosting Salisbury in round 17
Fitzroy & Ingle farm potentially going to end up on equal points so Fitzroys superior percentage thanks to the 82 goals against Elizabeth will probably get them the double chance
Battle for fifth has become interesting with Houghton finding form
St Pauls (7-8 50.61%) Houghton, Ingle Farm & Adel Lutheran
Houghton (7-8 48.24%) St Pauls, Central United, Fitzroy
Rosewater (6-9 41.79%) Adel Lutheran, Elizabeth, Ingle Farm
Think whoever wins this week between St Pauls & Houghton gets fifth
No vision of Eastern Park & St Pauls up yet so hopefully comes up to give me something to watch as i couldnt get to any games this week but scoreline probably means not much of a contest. St Pauls have certainly been beaten well the last 2 weeks against the 2 top sides
Most games probably as predicted except for Elizabeth but they have been improving, could be costly for Units in relegation

It's our own fault for dropping games against St Paul's and Houghton this year, despite beating Fitzroy twice.
St Paul's vs Houghton is a massive match this week - you'd have to say the win plays finals, the lose will finish 6th. Rosewater would need to win all 3 and have St Paul's or Houghton only win 1 each to make it.
Can't see Units making up the 8% needed to get ahead of Lutheran either.

Don't be so negative. The Units only have to play the top 2, Salisbury and Eastern Park and between them Houghton the current form team.

Came in late under some challenging circumstances. From all reports has done his best. You'd expect them to be pretty good in 7 if they keep all their players and add to the list.
Probably deserves a chance to have a crack with a full pre-season and make his own mark.

Do you even know what you’re talking about? He signed in October last year.. recruited half of Willaston 18’s, started the season well then lost to Elizabeth and effectively condemned his side to relegation.
“Done his best” is noble, but doesn’t win games.
Sorry norm, nothing personal, but shouldn’t have finished bottom 2.

Haha you been on the cans tonight champ
Well aware of what i am talking about and there was definitely some as i said "Challenging circumstances" and changing of the guard. Not sure if i should be saying anything else on here out of respect for the club.
For starters Willaston is 17.5's but all good. So he bought in some kids. They will take time to develop.
The CUFC Coach walked in October and took players. Billl came in late and filled a void.
The Units are not a big club and have seldom been above Div 6. Could the club have finished higher - yes! Is it all the Coaches fault - No!

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Eh I don’t actually care.. just think they should’ve done enough to stay up.
Is what it is.
I initially was just asking the question, as most clubs each season would ask the question.. then entertained discussing why.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Units not far off having a decent team. If they can hold onto the youth Bill Fuller brought in and then add a gun key forward and defender to the mix they will be up n about in Division 7
Some of the young lads have exceptional talent, young ruckman is very raw but if he develops his disposal efficiency, look out!
They need a good pre season though, this year was not great due to lack of numbers, I get you cant do much with 12 blokes every sesh, it ended up not much more than a solid warm up session sometimes. Even an old fart like me needed more from it to keep motivated.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
It’s great to play the kids but let’s be real, how many are going to hang around and play a lot of division 7 football when for many CU isn’t even their home club.

Easier said than done, but they need another influx of players - and young ones. Don't worry so much about the couple key posts in the A grade missing, add depth through the 2s and get people who want to buy in.
As I said though, it's easier said than done.
