No, pokies are also a scourge. I've seen it first hand with a very close relative who tried to flush every last dollar through those machines, plus the reliance on their revenue from a club perspective which disgusted me.

The rules surrounding pokies are so completely insane. Someone with the right training will confirm but I'm pretty sure if you withdraw ( over a number of transactions ) over $1000 in a venue the staff are merely obliged to tell you that you've hit $1000.

When I last worked in a pub it was max $200 from the EFTPOS and a max $200 from over the counter. It was limited after COVID and part of the deal to bring in note readers and facial recognition I think and has been in for at least 2.5 years.
But yeah when I started it it was only limited by the staff's RSG training.
