Nope, that was the Village Tavern, still Golden Grove though, that place went off on Thursday and Friday nights, I remember going pretty much straight to work from there many times.PatowalongaPirate wrote:Was it called The Village?Booney wrote:What was the night club they had their called?

You're not a lone soldier there, the Grove did have a nightclub, it still does by the looks of it, looks as though it has acoustic Sundays nowadays, I'll have to pop my head in...............................and I'll take a look too.Booney wrote:

Re: I need to know....
Ok, so the Village Tavern is still called the Village Tavern located next to what was the Village shopping centre.Lightning McQueen wrote:You're not a lone soldier there, the Grove did have a nightclub, it still does by the looks of it, looks as though it has acoustic Sundays nowadays, I'll have to pop my head in...............................and I'll take a look too.Booney wrote:

The village shopping centre is now called the Grove but the Village Tavern is still called the Village which is located on the corner of The Grove Way and the other road is the Golden Way…
To confuse things, the Golden Grove Tavern is actually located in Surrey Downs on the Golden Grove Road.
I worked in the bottle shop at the Golden Grove Tavern in the mid-late 90’s and the amount of people who were dropped off in the bottle shop as they assumed the Golden Grove tavern was the one with the nightclub was a regular occurrence…
Ah the memories

Thanks for asking @Amber fluid, much appreciated.amber_fluid wrote:Where’s @Brodlach
Hopefully just busy at work and all good?
I’m actually really good and healthy, I have no complaints at all.
Just lost a lot of passion for footy over the past couple of years both with local footy (ADFL) and AFL which has probably flowed onto not being as interested in being on here. Nothing to do with work, just as busy as I have always been.
Jockey Challenge thread has fired up I see, loved that thread at its peak with dodgey, Mr Willy, Grubb and a number of others. We even had to make a second thread as it reached its page limit.
Good times!
Up the Bloods, no spoon this season. Fingers crossed.
Hope everyone is well.

Observations so far:Booney wrote:If I eat white bread or any pastry I have 40 minutes to eat a Gaviscon. I'm a pretty healthy eater and I don't really drink a lot anymore but I seem to get indigestion most days, is it age related?
Anything you've noticed doing it?
Couple the above with lactose intolerance and I closely watch what I eat.
Fine
Beer
Gin with anything except tonic.
Cheese & Onion chips
Spicy Chicken
No good
Chocolate
Crumpets with margarine, cheese spread & vegemite
Verdict is still out
Avalanche coffee sachets

Crumpets only go with fritz and sauce, you’re doing it wrong.

Only one I've ever watched was the one at the Superbowl show at the District this year as my son's best mate was in it and won. Tom Rehn hosted it and made it entertaining by calling him by the wrong name.dedja wrote:how anyone can watch a hotdog eating contest.
Won $200 voucher and the smart lad got on the spirits with not much room left in his guts and ended up getting a lot more value from the drinks package than I did as I was on the South Coast Pales!
