They haven't been 'byes' - they've been forfeits.

Oooh wait - you're not worried that Fitzroy are being disadvantaged are you?? Oh turned have thy tables!

No. Legit question.

Program says bye and we have 2 wins for 4points which is correct, St.Pauls and Central United. No forfeit points anywhere.

I am happy to accept whatever is done ;)

Reality is, if they field a side remainder of the year, ladder will be corrected probably after Rd 9 and it'll be forfeit wins + average winning margin awarded.

Wont help Units this week unfortunately.

Has absolutely nothing to do with me, but I'd be interested to know if there's been a leadership change at committee level over the last 7-10 days? Wasn't that the reason for the mass exodus in the first place?

Nah truth is i'm just ******* around making up names - although I suspect i'm closer to right than wrong - it's just fun watching the Units have a meltdown over it.

Wondering.. is their appetite to revisit merging D6 and D7 into one division?

Or wonder if there are two more clubs that could join to make a compete 10 team div in D7

18x team div.. play each other once, split top 5 into “D6 finals”, sides 6-10 into “D7 finals” 8)

All the returning players suck anyway.. not sure why the units would have a meltdown although it does seem like the eagles have timed it perfectly to all of a sudden get 2 horrible teams on the park with all their “returning” players and now they can compete for the official title of the worst amateur team in the northern suburbs, clearly not a title the eagles want..

There is a whole lot of candidates. Have Smithfield and Brahma Lodge got the Units covered???

All bullshit aside, Elizabeth fielding two sides - and potentially being more competitive - is nothing but good for the competition, not to mention their own club.

I'm sure every club would want a good hit out for A/B grade - and the increased revenue generated at home games - as well as just getting a game in for blokes. Think sometimes we are quick to forget the reasons we play community sport, and that opportunity to get out each weekend and have a kick as well.

100% its great if they can field a b grade side consistently.

Only issue will be is if the b grade side starts forfeiting Friday morning/lunch time semi regularly (eg struggle to get the numbers for aways games) will be frustrating for opposition players not knowing if they get a game until Friday morningish, frustrating for clubs catering, organizing timeslots etc.

But yeah they have to start somewhere so good luck to them.

Would love to see the northern burbs club performing much stronger than they are at a present. Hope we see a few in the higher grades in the next ten years.

Exactly. Not sure why anyone would be against it or say the players suck etc. They are trying let them be.

With the amount we've had transfer and register in the last week or so, we should be fine to field both sides for the remainder of the year.

Thats great news!

Good to see Elizabeth some what back on track. My fondest memories of junior footy is losing GF's regularly to Elizabeth back in the days of Ben Harvey, Justin Platten, Mark Allen, Steven Kerley etc.
