It is also a coaches responsibility to develop players, not every coach is handed a standout list

I certainly would not have taken Kouta's approach, however, I do believe Pagan failed to move with the game

One (in 1988 or 1989) ... with an inherited list that you, me or the town wino could have even coached to a flag.

I think I have given the wrong impression .....

My comments on Joyce are meant to show that the list a coach has at his disposal will affect 1- the game plan and 2- how well he appears to do

I wouldn't class Joyce as one of the greatest coaches ever yet because of his list he has 2 premierships on his resume

Malthouse at WCE had the cream of WA junior talent from 87-90 which ended up as one of the best teams of the last 30 years. Without that list would he have the rep he has today? He has had no premierships since then ..

Its the age-old question - what % is the playing list and what % is the coach himself?????

Why am I not suprised that Nick Stevens was one of the players who was trying to sack the coach?

Starts at one club, holds them to ransom, moves to another club, tries to sack the coach! What a great club man.
