We got the win but it was an awful game as it always is against them
Surprised and encouraged by the two games scores.
A spectacle for the ages it certainly was not, but neither sides intensity and work rate could be questioned. Thought West looked more potent ariallly up forward although we were missing a couple in Grace and McCormick. Dogs midfield recruits looked good..gone are the days where we look undersized on ball… Nutta junior and Gaspar will add polish around the goals..
We were missing a stack also, looking at the reserves I expected West to get smashed but I was very pleased with the result
Who was missing from West?
Dogs reserves may struggle this year as they have lost quite a few.
I caught the first half. The first quarter the dogs ran around like headless chooks for the most part. Which can be expected for the first trial with an inexperienced midfield. West midfield were first to the ball and we were caught out a few times.
The second quarter we got our hands on the footy and a bit of structure back . I noticed we wanted to link up by hand a lot more than previous seasons.
Callinan and Gaspar added some class in the front half. Presbury played off half back and Dudley played up forward and both were effective.
Dogs players not playing: Schiller Grant Grace McCormack McLennan Chisholm Beuchner East Barreau Shaw

Jez played the second half.. and we looked a bit more organised and composed across half back as a result
