Brand new facilities had heaps to do with the influx there for sure.RHM 17 wrote:To say there are too many clubs in the Northern area is that a cop out for some..alot of clubs recruit players in and dont look after what they had and when the new ones leave after a year or 2...have a look at para hills they had terrible couple of years now have entered a D grade for the 1st time in there history ...

I would argue the demographic moving into the area are not necessarily Aussie Rules playing families in Salisbury and Elizabeth. Paralowie, North Pines, Salisbury West now potentially Elizabeth, Central United hanging on, Mawson Lakes, Who knows how Long Brahma hold on for, Salisbury an inch or two away only 18 months ago…RHM 17 wrote:To say there are too many clubs in the Northern area is that a cop out for some..alot of clubs recruit players in and dont look after what they had and when the new ones leave after a year or 2...have a look at para hills they had terrible couple of years now have entered a D grade for the 1st time in there history ...
Would watch the Plains Football Association over the next few years, murmurs a couple of clubs are not wanted in the comp with the change in their ‘towns’ becoming more populated by the minute, Virginia, Two Wells and Angle Vale may be looking for another association if a few outlying clubs get their way.
Wouldn’t be bad for SAAFL either pushing a few clubs down and strengthening the lower divisions again.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
If the SAAFL bring in clubs from the APFL in the next 5-10 years then I’ll walk to China. There’s absolutely no need to when the league already has 77 clubs. What is the logical point of bringing in another club North of Adelaide when a senior club has fallen over? If they did that then in 2-3 years at least one more will bite the bullet and another association would be under the pump with club numbers. No one wins in 4-5 years with that scenario…

It isn’t SAAFL that is chasing the clubs, but possibly the other clubs within the Association wanting to push out these three clubs with the urban sprawl creating an unfair advantage.LaughingKookaburra wrote:If the SAAFL bring in clubs from the APFL in the next 5-10 years then I’ll walk to China. Creating a Culture where players want to come, great management and having a great junior program helps
Yes new facilities help, but doess Broadview have a D Grade with new club rooms this year?

You're assuming the AdFL would allow them in. I can't see that happening - particularly Angle Vale who left in rather unscrupulous.Observer55 wrote:It isn’t SAAFL that is chasing the clubs, but possibly the other clubs within the Association wanting to push out these three clubs with the urban sprawl creating an unfair advantage.
Bring back CDFA?
Plus, wouldn't existing clubs also have to vote on it? I'd almost back Salisbury West making a return before an APFL club joining.

I could see Virginia and possibly Two Wells coming in at some stage. For Southern clubs, they'd be easier to get to (via the Northern Connector) than Modbury/Tea Tree Gully/Golden Grove/Houghton up North East Rd.

It might be out of their hands in terms of the CFB restructuring the Lower/Mid North area.redyellow&blue wrote:Not with the money they currently allowed to use now.Pag wrote:I could see Virginia and possibly Two Wells coming in at some stage. I'm pretty sure we are all operating under the same rules now. Only thing different is that country clubs are more likely to pay travel allowance, although this shouldn't apply to Two Wells, Virginia and Angle Vale as they are less than 50km from the GPO.wenchbarwer wrote:Country leagues are higher than metro leaguesMr Beefy wrote:How so, arent we all on the same salary cap rules?redyellow&blue wrote:Not with the money they currently allowed to use now.Pag wrote:I could see Virginia and possibly Two Wells coming in at some stage. You can pay one marquee player $1K per game in the country, but only $500 in the metro.Mr Beefy wrote: I'm pretty sure we are all operating under the same rules now. Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
I would highly doubt any APFL clubs would want to come to SAAFL. Clubs like Two Wells and Virginia would have roughly 70-100 females playing netball on the same day who would have to find inner city comps to then play in.LaughingKookaburra wrote:If the SAAFL bring in clubs from the APFL in the next 5-10 years then I’ll walk to China. Never mind the lost income clubs would face from no entry fees, which would also include roughly no entries fees for 70-100 opposition netball players and XXXX amount of juniors for 8-9 games a year, lost canteen income from the much smaller crowds SAAFL generates. Then you would need to split your club volunteers at multiple grounds throughout the year.
Thats the business side of the club before you start to discuss the club losing the 'sense of country sport' etc which would be a huge discussion point.
Maybe clubs have approached the SAAFL but would be shocked and would think leagues such as the Barossa, NEFL or a merging of leagues would be the clubs first preference.

I hear this a lot.. but you know there isn't actually any rule against clubs charging entry fee in the AdFL right? It's more that stuff all clubs are in a position to actually be able to do it.whufc wrote:Never mind the lost income clubs would face from no entry fees.
