Welcome Hoggsters to Hogg Division I for season 2024. Autoinvites have been sent out to coaches who participated last year but if you have been using an ancient email you wouldn't have gotten squat. The code for this league is 101396. The following teams are invited to join the league.
Happy Hogging in 2024! I have no idea who some of you are so hopefully you are reading this Digby...
regards,
REB

The group for this year's Hogg Shield has been created. It's a bit different this year, this year it's an 'unlimited' league that can have as many entries as you want. Please join as it helps me organise the Hogg each year.
Still waiting on @Q. Before You and Buckets. This could be a sixteen team this year with no relegation if both teams don't nominate by the Feb 22 deadline. If one joins then we promote a divvy II side to make the eighteen.
A couple of no shows this season in Division I and Premier so both of these leagues will be sixteen teams leagues in 2024. In Division I the Grand Finalists are promoted to Premier League but in 2024 there will be no relegation unless the missing teams put in an eleventh hour entry. These leagues have been closed to prevent randoms from filling the last two spots.
The sixteen confirmed starters are (seeded list)
1 eddieslittleindians MAY-Z 2 Slothy Zac 3 Herbs'N'Spices Herbie 4 Head Butters Digby 5 ZedForce Zedman 6 Cowpokes Alaska Jnr 7 Jim's TigerRoos Mythical Creature 8 Pool Swimmers Tom 9 wycbloods wycbloods 10 Crowmagnon David J 11 Jays Jocks Jason 12 Chops Clots David Brent 13 Porter Guns Unky B 14 Coromandel Creeps Alaska 15 Petracca's Picnic Cub 16 Richo Richo Man CoverKing

btw still hoping the other two teams join. Don't really want to lose two good teams. Closing the league is more about keeping randoms out, not keeping regulars out. talk to me boys.

Heya REB
Sorry for the late withdrawal, but I'm officially retiring from Supercoach. Between work, family and a flourishing powerlifting career, I just don't have the time to do this properly. Thankyou for running this all these years and adding another layer of enjoyment to the greatest sport in the world.

Onya Q. Seeing as I'll be doing this for ten years after I die, you can come back once you've done your last powerful lift! All the best and thanks for playing.
Please note Hoggies that Division I matches will commence THIS WEEK. Once again there will be no relegation from this league but the Grand Finalists are promoted to Hogg Premier like usual.
Cub’s Petracca’s Picnic is the surprise leader after round one of Divvy I action after wycblood was spilt in a flogging of epic proportions. Divvy I overall didn’t quite score to the expected standard but in this regard, bloods has excelled himself. Top of the class was Jays Jocks but a solid scoring effort by the Cowpokes as well. In the unlucky losers class Chops Clots and Jims TigerRoos pretty stiff to get done with 2100 on the board but spare a thought for Divvy I newcomer Herbs’N’Spices who lost by a point in his debut at this level. After all the luck Herb got last season this is a good sign for humanity.
While the Indians are usually top of teepee around here, this season some Cowpokes have ridden into town and have hogtied Divvy I with a bout of heavy scoring that left the rest of the Hogg behind. A massive 2124 was more than enough to ensure that Coro didn’t creep in as the pokes lead the stampeding pack behind them. PorterGuns shot down Petracca’s Picnic after the cubman got out to a massive lead but the Guns gradually hauled in the Picnic who was cursing Short and Rosey at the close of play. HeadButters scored well and remained unbeaten while wycbloods joined the competition a week late to smash his brother Richo which sent the man to the bottom of the ladder. Pooly also had a high scoring win in a match that shows Jims Tiges aren’t great swimmers. Highly ranked Zed, Clots and Slothy haven’t fired a shot yet with Herb opening his account with in yet another close one for the Spices.
The Indians were one of many top sides in Division I to flex their muscles over Easter after they made light work of a suspect Jays Jocks combination. ZedForce and Petracca’s had a classic contest as two sides with almost the same team faced off with Zed falling over the line with a ten point victory. Richo Richo opened his account with a comfortable victory over PorterGuns while Pool Swimmers and Coromandel Creeps consolidated their top eight spots with high scoring wins. The Cowpokes had the day off and won while HeadButters had the day off and didn’t. Slothy opened their account while Clots didn’t and it hasn’t taken long for the wheat and the chaff to get sorted. Indians already looking the team to beat but we thought that last year.
Petracca’s Picnic made a strong statement with a sensational come from behind victory over the ladder leading Indians, a team that very rarely drops minor round games. The Cubman is well and truly up for it this season and the Picnic are a team to be reckoned with. Pooly is going all right as well. A comfortable win, also against top eight opposition sees him right up there with Indians now as the Alaskas had a bit of a swing and a miss weekend with the pokes and creeps both getting rolled. It was a return to form for HeadButters and Chops are continuing to build but it was the ongoing sorry tale as far as Slothy and wycbloods are concerned.
Round 6 saw a number of struggling teams rediscover their best form to post important victories. HeadButters and PorterGuns had lost their way a bit in recent weeks but bounced back strongly with scores over 2000 which most of this league could not manage. The Indians saw off a strong challenge from Richo but gave up top spot to Pool Swimmers who made light work of the Cowpokes. Slothy was another team who has been really battling but they got their mojo back as they trounced a suspect Coropmandel Creeps who badly need a win now as they start to fall down the ladder. Speaking of not much love for Herb and wycbloods as neither side is scoring or winning…but no relegation lads so all good.
You know you are in a tight league when one game separates top form ninth. Another subtle pointer might be if the bottom side recorded a win against the top side seven rounds into the minor round during a non-bye week. Yep, it happened all right and wycbloods pulled off a spectacular coup as they rolled Pool Swimmers in the boilover of the season so far to date. It was a week were mid-table sides recorded vital wins to keep up with the big boys as eddieslittleindians were another top side who failed to get a win on the board. He big winners were highly rated Petracca’s Picnic, ZedForce and HeadbButters who prospered when the Indians and swimmers sunk.
It was a big round in SuperCoach last week and Divvy I got right into it with Chops Clots racking up a massive 2558 to drop the Jocks who were one of many unlucky teams to score 2300 and get done on the weekend. The Indians kept the heat on a misfiring Petracca’s Picnic when they beat HeadButters by a 100 in their crucial top four clash while ZedForce keeps quietly going about their business as they rounded up the Cowpokes. Richo was one of the stragglers who scored a much needed victory but it was PorterGuns, Coromandel Creeps and Pool Swimmers who would be more satisfied with their weekend’s work. No one really out of it but Herb looks a bit light on and Slothy hasn’t been consistent enough but plenty of SuperCoaching to be done before the book closes on this chapter.
The scoring wasn’t great in Divvy I this week but despite that not many upsets happened in the league in Round 11. Surely you blokes can’t all have Stupid Sexy Flanders? Out of the top teams the side who won’t be keen on the results above is the Indians. The Indians usually never lose minor round games but this year they’ve started to get into the habit of losing close matches to contenders which doesn’t bode well for a team that has a less than flattering finals record. This time it was Pooly who sunk the Indians with a six point win that keeps them in the top four conversation. Otherwise, everyone got up which made it tough for chasing teams who didn’t manage a win against lower ranked teams like Chops Clots, or teams propping up the ladder and losing by nine points like Slothy. Herb was one team that finally got a win and he actually scored some points this week which would have been most welcome for the big fella who hasn’t had the greatest season after his dominant 2023.
The Indians traditional dominance over the minor round of this division appears to be over after the latest loss, this time against Cowpokes. Other teams are ready to pounce; Petracca’s Picnic and HeadButters have a massive match coming up this weekend for the right for premiership favouritism but a real smokey has emerged in the form of PorterGuns who are firing at the moment. The Guns announced their candidacy for the premiership after an impressive 94-point win over the high scoring ZedForce who were a bit stiff to get rolled after racking up 2054 which would have beaten plenty of other teams in the Hogg this weekend. Another side who had a big week was Jims TigerRoos who have been a bit of a non-starter in this division. Jimbo has re-ignited his season but the chasing pack are now two games off the pace when it comes to finals honours this season. Dare I say it, the Indians a little vulnerable here? Say it isn’t so!
