1) The runs will flow today.
First session won't be an explosion, but after lunch is when the pace will really pick up.
The day 2 runs tally will be at least 25% higher than day 1.

2) The Aussies won't declare.
In their efforts to get to the golf course by the weekend, they'll drop wickets regularly enough that their first innings this test will come to a natural close (either late today or before lunch tomorrow), rather than a declaration.

The other talking point for mine, Travis.
Averaging 19.67 over his last 9 innings, with no 50s.
Has he overcome his ODI world cup hangover yet? Or is he still partying?
A flattening, day 2 Adelaide Oval pitch against a lacklustre West Indian attack, is this the easy time to get back in form, or will the lack of challenge fail to inspire our man Heady, who seems to save his best performances for the matches that actually matter?

Day 2 runs were 20% higher than day 1, with the bulk coming in the post lunch session.
Plenty of wickets with the Aussies bowled out shortly after the new ball.
And yes, Heady was the main point of interest.

Not perfect, with the runs falling slightly short (15) of my prediction, but compared to day 1, I'll take it as a win.

It has to be said, this Aussie side is nowhere as good as it thinks it is.

I wasn't so sure about your statement about our batsmen very rarely facing 100 balls when I read it earlier today so I had a look.
Since the start of the 21/22 Ashes-
Khawaja- 47 innings, 25 innings where he faced 100 deliveries or more.
Smith- 50 innings, 22 innings where he faced 100 deliveries or more.
Labuschagne- 52 innings, 22 innings where he faced 100 deliveries or more.
Head- 43 innings, 12 innings where he faced 100 deliveries or more.
Green- 29 innings, 10 innings where he faced 100 deliveries or more.

I wouldn't say Smith and Labuschagne 'very rarely' face 100 balls, even Head and Green have faced 100 balls in less than one out of four innings, it depends on what you consider 'very rarely'.

I heard Ian Smith and Vaughn comment yesterday on starting the test on a Wednesday as Cricket Australia has a busy schedule. They said that CA had prioritised the tests ahead of the ODI's and any T20 fixtures. If so, how does it start on a Wednesday in that case? As they said, they talk about making it a priority but they don't give it prime time scheduling.

This test is farcical.

I believe SACA budget on tests being 3.5 days long so I doubt they are giving away any freebies this year. But then either them or the SMA kick an own goal as i believe once play finishes today that they are leaving the out the back area open for only an extra 2 hrs. Surely if it finishes early this morning like most expect, you are already paying wages, why not leave the back area open until mid-afternoon.

I am going today so hoping for it to last as long as possible but not sure will be in with much luck

Tests should ideally start on a Friday. Thursday at the earliest.
Only time that changes is if it were to be scheduled around a long weekend.

Hopefully CA learn this time around. They bring in a sub standard test nation, start the test on a Wednesday & will be "surprised" that they miss out on weekend gate takings......pretty ******* dumb.

CA knew it would be a short test hence giving it to SA coz we will just suck it up and accept it.
Although Peter Maliauskas has been vocal about it still means jacksh*t to CA
