1 hour of that would be taken up by guitar solos surely!Booney wrote:amber_fluid wrote:Booney wrote:Apparently on stage at 7:30 and play for near on 3 hours.
I’ve read 7.30 and 8.30pm so not sure.
They have to be finished by 11pm coz the noise restrictions so 7.30pm would seem about right
Coopers Stadium site says show finishes 11pm, Stadium closes 11:30pm.

The upcoming release of "The Benefit Concert Volume 20" by Warren Haynes includes a spectacular highlight: the first-ever —and only to date — performance of Dave Grohl's 23-minute instrumental epic "Play", which extends to an extraordinary 36 minutes in its live rendition. This live performance is now available, offering fans the opportunity to witness "Play" being brought to life on that unforgettable evening.

Main reason I'm avoiding the Hope Inn and Hindmarsh today!
Was a few people were lining up already when our Uber drove past at 1pm. Merch tent is open already too. Fooeys were doing a sound check so got a small free concert!
I worked at the last concert they did and they were sensational, Christ did we sell some bourbon and cokes that night though!

Foo Fighters
Great concert as always!
Coopers stadium is such a good place for concerts of this size.
My only gripe was the line ups for alcohol.
Most of the bar staff could use a lesson in pouring beers.
Wasted more than they poured.

I thought similarly when I was at a soccer game there.
Unfortunately standards in the hospitality industry have gone downhill big time, they'll employ anyone now as most places are yelling out for staff.

Most of the security and hospitality staff were Indians, which there is nothing wrong with that except a lot seemed like they were lacking in any training of the job required.

My only gripe. We could have been home in bed by 11 if they'd knock off the self indulgent mid song breakdowns. I counted 8 of them through the night and the penultimate song went for 14 minutes.
The breakdowns replace the lead breaks, they go on and on and on, then they stop to let the crowd roar and then finish the song. It's their schtick, I get it, but they need to limit it to 3 or 4 times a night, not 8.
With the back catalogue they have they don't need to pad it out like that.

After the initial flurry we had no issues getting a drink....getting out of the place on the other hand.

The lines died down as the night progressed thankfully.
Better trained staff would definitely help them moving forward though.
I actually showed one dude how to pour my beers for him.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
They hire a lot of their staff just as the soccer season starts so it's when they're at their worst/least experienced.
You should have seen the heads they were pouring in round 1 of the A League!
I moved straight to cans!

Going to see "Hybrid Theory" at the Gov tonight as the son was a huge Linkin Park fan.
Will be an interesting night of people watching I feel.

Royal blood in there last night were awesome, Frank Turner a few weeks back too. Venue must be getting a workout, if you stood still too long got stuck to the floor.
