Dammit, needed Thybulle or Green to step up and make life difficult for Schroeder. Hope they can bounce back, we may have gotten a bronze at the Olympics but World Championship/Cup podium finish still unachieved.

The Boomers have advanced to the second round and results from the group stage carry through to the next round with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Quarter Finals. These are the new groups:

Group I: Serbia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Puerto Rico

Group J: USA, Lithuania, Montenegro, Greece

Group K: Slovenia, Germany, Australia, Georgia

Group L: Canada, Spain, Brazil, Latvia

Australia's second round games:

Friday September 1 - Australia vs Slovenia, 9:40 pm

Sunday September 3 - Australia vs Georgia, 5:00 pm

Also with New Zealand knocked out in the group stage it means Australia has now automatically qualified for next year's Olympic Games in Paris.

Another poor start.

Playing a higher court press but getting slaughtered on the roll to the basket. Being out rebounded as well.

I think we are yet to score from outside.

Down 28-17 nearly quarter time.

And blown away in the last so that’s the end of us in an absolute failure of a tournament. Some hard questions have to be asked of this squad

Need to ask why Ingles got so many minutes when he’s old and afraid to shoot.
Giddey showed his age at times but should have played more

Bloody disappointing, with no Landale we don't have a single big man that's NBA standard and you really do need that if you're gonna finish top 3.
Love Joe Ingles but think this should be his last international tournament. Glad he's got another 2 year NBA contract already stitched up because this comp did him no favors at all.
Not as strong a squad as we've sent out before but still too good to go out like this.

Watched the USA trounce Italy last night. Up by 40+ in the third. Ran the bench for most of the second half. Won 100 67.

Defense was terrific. Match up with either Germany or Latvia in the semi's.

Long odds on to win it from here.
