Glasgow have got the games and so they can make the rules of what and therefore who gets to play at 'their house'. Just announced the sports that are in and the sports that miss this time after being in Birmingham. I understand why but the big surprise for me is there's no marathon in athletics program. One of those memories as a kid was seeing Rob de Castella duel with the Tanzanians in 82 at Brisbane. A lot of the sports I can take or leave in the below list of sports to miss but somehow 3x3 basketball gets a guernsey
Hockey
Squash
Rugby sevens
Cricket
Beach volleyball
Diving
Badminton
Road cycling
Mountain biking
Table tennis
Triathlon
Wrestling
Success is in trying

Re: Commonwealth Games
Have been keeping an eye on this, apparently they wanted all athletics contained to a certain precinct, so no walking or marathons.
Also no accommodation village for the athletes, going to use the existing infrastructure.
Given the very short time frame, they're just utilising all existing sports complexes and no new builds, hence the bloodletting with certain sports.
