With the right deal you'll get full breakfast at the hotel, lunch you'll spend $12 max per person, dinner it'll be similar, probably $12-15 per meal. ( No drinks )

Having been to Bali more times than I can remember and Vietnam a few times (including being there currently) I’d absolutely recommend Vietnam. Vietnam is a bit harder work as it’s still pretty much a third world country in many respects but it’s progressing rapidly and catching up to Thailand and Malaysia.whufc wrote:Almost thinking we might do Vietnam instead. Unless I've got it wrong accommodation and food/drink prices seem a fair bit cheaper over there. Thinking it works out to be pretty similar cost to Bali but would be a better cultural experience for the kids.

As much as i would like a bit of R and R i would rather priorities giving the daughters a life experience over spending 7 days in a resort pool or bars full of aussies trying to be as bogan as possible.

No direct flight to Da Nang from Australia and we only have limited direct flights to Vietnam as it is. Singapore Airlines go direct to Da Nang though so you could do Adelaide to Singapore to Da Nang which would be the quickest way otherwise you need to go to the East coast to pick up Vietnam Airlines or Jetstar to Vietnam.Jimmy_041 wrote:whufc wrote:Thanks Jim.

Are you saying that happens in Viet Nam or Bali?
If you want a very good cultural experience + beach / pool take them to Hoi An
We stayed at the Tropical Beach Resort Hoi An which was cheap and Ok plus has a shuttle bus into town every day / night
It was a DMZ in the war so the old architecture is still there
We didn't see any bogans there
The only downside is I dont think you can fly direct into Da Nang

Ha, I fly in to Bali on July 19th and have a week there and have an extra 4 days up our sleeve that we haven’t worked out yet. We have been to Lombok 4 times (yes the Kuta on Lombok is better) so not sure if we head there and come home via Jakarta or other options are head to Penang or Langkawi and fly home from there or head to the Philippines and go to Boracay againBooney wrote:Bali booked :
Fly there on the 6th July (7pm out of Adelaide ), stay 7th July to 10th - Sanur
Lombok 10th to 14th - Kuta ( they have one too )
Bali 14th to 17th and home (1pm out of Bali) - Not sure Mrs Boon told me but I wasn't listening.
No over nighter! This will be my last Bali trip though, three will be enough.

VOA was barely any wait time, but we had done ours as you had and customs the same, as you have.
We landed within 40 minutes of 13 other flights, 6 of them international and the "express" $$ clearance facility wasn't on offer. They were just overwhelmed.
