Get the feeling Wood is not far away from doing a Fantasia.

Stokes has gone past 6000 test runs
Ali gone past 200 tear wicket, the third English spinner to do so.
Smith has equalled Ian Botham taking 54 catches, the most in Ashes cricket.
Cummins has leapfrogged Hazlewood (230) and now has 235 test wickets.

It appears evenly poised, but ......
Carey through to Hazlewood showed absolutely no intention to tough out against Wood in the first knock, and if an early wkt falls, we will be outed for less than 200 run lead...not enough.

I’ve been one who wanted to back Warner in but his time is up. Warner deserved a lot of chances to get back into form but he’s used up all his tickets. He’s been great for the side for over a decade but we can’t go into a game with only 9 wickets as he just has lost his ability. Win this Test, give him a farewell, lose this Test and he gets replaced.

If Head had been in the same form he’d been gone a long time ago.

Great career Davy, but your time is up.

Wood has potentially spun this series on its head.
Smith and Labuschagne had brain fades... common denominator? Wood was charging in from the other end. Focus on that, and mistakes happen.
Vastly different league, but I played a game against Martyn Crook when he was really firing up... we were toppled quickly with the no name medium pacer at the other end snaring a 7for.

Can we talk about the other elephant in the room.
Labashaunge has one 50 in 17 innings, has a bad case of drinking too much of his own bath water.
Time to drop him and get his ego in check.
The runs have dried up now he doesnt get 3 chances per innings, was the luckiest batsman to ever play the game there for awhile

SLOG SWEEP
Players who are allowed to play that shot are Warner/Head/Marsh/Carey
Players who should not play that shot are Khawaja/Lab/Smith

LAB
A lot of posters understandably have a go at Travis Head when he plays a flimsy shot to get out- however thats the way he SHOULD bat
But for Marcus Lab that is perhaps the worst decision shot of the series, given the state of the game
For starters its Moeen Ali not Jim Laker bowling
In this innings every run counts, he can only be excused if AU is 2/300 playing that shot

RUNS
I want Warner/Lab and Smith to make runs, but I dont miss them repeating '' no runnnnnnnnnnnnnnn''

Thats my gripes

Yep, the tail didn't show much effort in seeing him off in the first innings could really run through them.

The terrible bowling tactics late in the England innings has cost us, if we were 4 down with a 200 run lead it would be an entirely different game.

All the commentators were in a lather about Stokes' innings, but it was Wood's who turned the game.

Instead of plodding towards 150, 25 in two overs and the lead was under 100, helped by our ridiculous tactics, and the pressure was back on us knowing Stokes was still there. Bowling at the stumps to tailenders with the unsure, surprise element of the short ball has worked for ever, especially when you have Starc. Knowing what was coming, small ground, have a swipe and the odds are with the batsmen.

Sick of it, and sick of our batsmen playing without real application like this is a dead rubber (Marsh and maybe Head excepted).

And some of our batting efforts too. Gave them at least 50 more runs in the field, and could have easily taken another 20 off Moeen's bowling without any risk and probably wouldn't have lost a couple wickets either.

Same as last test, predict they will do the same next innings too. Shocking cricket to watch. Surely someone on the sidelines says cmon boys enough trying to pick up a cheap wicket caught in the deep and bowl a proper length to the tail end.

Whilst we let England got too many in the end, they also let Mitch Marsh get 100 more than he should have. 4/142 and the game is genuinely 50/50 right now. Anything over 250 and England will have to bat very well to win because we’re gonna get chances. Pressure does funny things to people and when you’re 2-0 down with no room for a bad session when you have a bat in your hand it’s going to be eyes glued to the screen…

Getting to that lead of 250 is the issue, alot on the shoulders of Head, Marsh and Carey because i dont think we can guarantee much from the rest, have a feeling this will be over before stumps is due tonight

Laba just seems to have lost the patience that made him the batter he initially was. Not sure if he doesn’t want to do the hard work to earn the runs, thinks he’s better than what he is, feels the pressure of Bazball to keep the game moving. Not sure what it is but he needs to get back to the old him. Personally I wouldn’t drop him just yet as he has a ton of credits in the bag and more importantly his flaw at the moment looks fixable.

If Warner isn’t dropped for the next test he 100% has something on CA. Came into this series out of form, has never performed in England previously and is now averaging 28 over the first 3 tests. Has to go.
