Yeh, massive news. Imagine Tiger and Rory be a bit miffed having given up nearly billion dollars  What will come of our LIV event in the future?

My read is the guys running the PGA saw what Liv had achieved in Adelaide..... and realised they were being left behind, LIV was a serious threat now. Albeit the PGA had already copied some Liv initiatives. While I believed there would one day be a compromise, and a coming together, I thought that would be several years away.

Hopefully the yanks have woken up to the absolute FACT, golf is a world game........Maybe now they will take events to Asia, South Africa as well as Aust/NZ, as there are fans, sponsors and corporate $$$ to be had. Never forget what motivates the PGA.

I actually think the field will get better, the event drew nothing but praise from the LIV players and let's not discount how much the WAGS enjoyed it, you know you listen to the Mrs when she says she wants to go back.

I just hope the Early Bird tickets are still $80 for 3 days..

I'd happily backtrack if that's the case but no way I can see it happening unless they move it to Nov / Dec so its outside the PGA schedule it'll be no different than the existing Aus tour events. Staying in May it'll clash with the US PGA, moving to March as was rumoured clashes with the players. Big paydays will stay in the PGA tour and players wont want the travel. Melbourne / Sydney courses move likely to want a piece of it with it aligned to the PGA as well.

I think LIV is booked into that timeslot in April??. I still think the field will maintain its strength.
Will be interesting to see how the calendar unfolds.

Can't wait to see the Rory tee it up over 54 holes... [emoji1787][emoji1787]

Might be fired or just not have his contract renewed which I think runs out shortly.
Not sure he'd care about not being involved in the new takeover, he's made some extra coin for his retirement

I'll backtrack here, hearing LIV as Adelaide knew it is dead.

There's a few good pods out there. Not hard to tell which side they're cheering for either for or against LIV

Going to be interesting to see the program for 2024.
You'd hope the PGA go more global and do come back down to Australia.
Everyone keeps saying LIV is dead etc. But I can see where it could easily still have tourneys. Run LIV instead of opposite field events etc.

Presidents Cup returns to Melbourne in 2028.

I went in 2019 to Royal Melbourne, it was sensational.

Corona Junior texting me, to get in for tickets already.

Any of you Croweaters thinking about heading over?
