Surely the league will look however at where they play next week and if thats back at SANFL footy then there is obviously an issue.

Re: 2023 Adelaide Footy League- Division 1
You might be right. Surely if he plays for an SANFL club this week that will be enough for a complaint to be lodged and for the league to take some action. North were being a tad generous, Ollie Dignan who is a junior for Orroroo was allowed to go back and play for them this weekend despite playing every game in the ressies this year so far.The Bedge wrote:Nah, I don't buy it.whufc wrote:In fairness though that is a perfect time for an SANFL player to reassess where they are at as far as league selection goes etc.The Bedge wrote:Seems fair risk to recruit a player on the same weekend the sanfl has a bye though

I just know of one SANFL player from Centrals who was going to wait to the state game bye to see how he was travelling after an injury plagued 2022. if he didn't feel he was close to a league game was going to return to his home club for the season. Not our club unfortunately.

Ladder shows SPOC winless - obviously there is the answer, no permit was submitted to the league for approval and the rules were broken.

Realise early days, but in terms of trying to avoid relegation that's a huge kick in the teeth.

Especially since the error was against another club in the same predicament

Zero issues with the SACFL, SANFL, ADFL cracking down on points etc, my guess is there might be a few more clubs over the next few weeks that get hit too....

I don't think you have anything to worry about, Jimmy! It's likely to be Iggies' only 'win' for the season.Jimmy_041 wrote:That might work and the bit of a lift might get them up this week as wellYungmuney wrote:If I’m Iggies I’m singing the song on Tuesday night at training for a bit of a lift

So if SPOC had received permission from West and ADFL approved a permit then it would be all good, is that how it works?

The player playing for SPOC needed to have played enough games for SPOC to receive a permit. The permission from West Adelaide was already needed to get one.
It shouldnt have been allowed

If the player had genuinely quit WA and gone to SPOC, then they could've approached the league regarding the situation, and i'm sure it would've been approved.

I don't read the rule as having that kind of wriggle room that the League could approve. The Bedge wrote:If the player had genuinely quit WA and gone to SPOC, then they could've approached the league regarding the situation, and i'm sure it would've been approved.
Suspect it would have been too bad, he plays in round 6.

Re: 2023 Adelaide Footy League- Division 1
OK so work this one out. A player played in the same game at Westies with James on the same day then played B’s with Goody Saints Saturday. He’s not a Saints junior.Jimmy_041 wrote:After another club played with the rules last year: I suspect you are 100% correctjo172 wrote:I don't read the rule as having that kind of wriggle room that the League could approve. The Bedge wrote:If the player had genuinely quit WA and gone to SPOC, then they could've approached the league regarding the situation, and i'm sure it would've been approved.

Doesn't work that way in the womens divisions but it might in the mens.
