Ridiculous
Didn’t pass full rate drops but are quick to increase the rate rises.

Probably one for the predictions thread.....how long until all banks are just online businesses.
I mean i took a home loan two years ago without picking up a pen.
I don't think my grandchildren (my daughters are 14, 12,11) so hopefully a fair few year to go will probably never walk into the bank.

I've heard Aus Post outlets mentioned as potentially offering banking services.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
We don’t take cash, nearest bank branch is a good 15 minutes away and waiting for change is ridiculous. Takes someone 60-90 minutes to do banking

Probably fills a gap for the older generation until they pass away and my generation become the oldies who are happy with online services.
Aus Post/Post Offices also trying to find a way to stay relevant as far as being customer facing businesses.

Aussie Post have been offering banking services for as long as I remember. Might be Comm Bank only.
Edit Come to think of it, it might just be those multi function agencies you find in country towns.

We only have a few branches up here and i go into one for work banking only....the only people I see in there are over 60's or employees dropping deposit slips ins.
Also how many are in the bank dealing with cash transactions.....no need for them in 15 years when cash is gone.
I'm not very tech savvy and i can't remember the last time i went into a bank for an actual personal banking transaction.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Disagree....in this day and age it costs businesses to have cash...they will lead the charge to a cashless society. I was in a seminar where AO management talked about saving roughly $60k a year by going cashless for their food and beverage services. Reduction in staff wages (no tilling on/off), reduction in security costs (cant be robbed money without cash), reduction in transporting cash costs, reduction in cash handling errors and belief people overspend when using a card compared to what cash they bring on them. Reduction in back-end admin hours accounting for daily cash summaries etc.
We are already starting to see businesses go card only when 5-10 years it was the opposite.
Once your cash becomes no good in shops etc that will drive us to a cashless society.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
They're printing more cash than ever before so I can't see us becoming a cashless society.
It's a bit hard to see business banking totally online but it wouldn't surprise me if there are ten per cent of the suburban branches there are currently in say, 30 years.

Who on here uses cash?
I have a $50 note in my phone wallet that’s been there for 2 years now for an emergency.
I haven’t used cash in ages.

Last time I used cash was two football seasons ago as I had to pay to get in. All clubs use square now at entrances and canteens etc so haven't used cash since then.
ps i lied I had to do a tooth fairy IOU when my daughter lost a tooth late at night...we don't have anywhere to get cash out in town and i wasnt driving to Clare.
The next day i did a $5 cash out at the woolworths self serve thing.
