Stuart Dew comeback?

Postby Hondo » Thu Aug 16, 2007 9:46 pm

Kane Cornes on 5AA tonight said that Stuart Dew was back in training (somewhere?) and looking 'to make a comeback to football mid to late next season'.

Does that mean he will nominate for the AFL Draft?

If so, would another club like the Crows grab him?

Or would he be running around for the Doggies?

very highly unlikely to play AFL again, don't think any AFL club will pick him up, i think he'll stay with the doggies.......

I would have thought it unlikely he would play AFL again, SANFL or amateur footy wouldn't be a stretch though.

Apparently he and Theresa Palmer are no longer together, so he would have a lot more spare time now than he did previously.

I reckon the Power would be keen to get him back on their list

I got the impression they were very sorry to see him retire so early and I remember Chocko making some statement that left the door open

Booney? GWW? anyone?

Nah i'd say very unlikely, he'll be 29 next year, unless he got himself incredibly fit, it would be a backward move, especially with guys like Gray, Boak and Rodan around the place.

Or Salisbury.

He even suited up for our past players match a couple of years ago, did the warm up and hang around for a while. Then he headed off to AAMI for a kick with Port.

Silly silly man if she was the reason that he retired from AFL football.
Given the condition he was in though toward the end of last season, you would suggest that he had lost some desire to play at that level,

No chance of Dewy returning to AFL footy. If anything, it'll be the amatuer leagues.

He'll be 29 next year, and after not playing for a year, i'd say it would be a fairly big risk. If it did happen, my guess would be Hawthorn or Melbourne (Dean Bailey connection).
