They have a fascination with quick greens.

They are selling off the 17th/18th for land packages along with the driving range area behind the 6th green from memory

Not selling 17 & 18 actually - just the driving range which is being moved and the course tweaked to still be 18 holes, par 71/72 dependant on the re-design of a couple of holes... with practice facilities...

Also - not sure about your mini putt-putt claims - it's just different to have greens run at 10/11 consistently when you're used to 8/9 - you can take the skill of putting on those greens anywhere, just not vice versa....

I know I can't putt.
So for me the quicker the greens the longer it takes to get in the hole

Thanks very much mate it’s greatly appreciated.

I seriously can’t believe the conversations I’ve been part of over the past few weeks on the back of this day. The heart ache people have been through is absolutely unbelievable, it really is. It’s when the stories involve kids I lose it, big lump in the throat just heart breaking seriously heart breaking. I don’t give a rats how big and tough we think we are that cuts me at the knees every time.

If dragging my fat ass around for 54 helps in the slightest way I think it’s my duty to just do it.

Getting close to $7k I think.

South Lakes yesterday, haven't played there for 20 odd years, really enjoyed it - fairways perfect, greens a bit slow but pretty good and the rough was just the right length. Ended up parring 4 of the 1st 5 holes and turned on 41 after 9, back 9 was a 44 but really only played the par 3's poorly, with double bogeys on both of them. Overall a 85 is a score I haven't seen on my card for a number of years, so pretty happy, even my chipping is improving!

Only knock on the course would be having only 2 par 5's, but for $40 a round (esp as most clubs jack up the price at this time of year) Im not sure there is much better value going around

Flaggy this morning

Woke up startled to the alarm going off...
started on the 10th

1st drive was just beautiful, down the middle and my fears of a month off were eased.
birdie on the 11th. Easy Game
then the wheels started falling off.
just didnt feel at all comfortable.

the driver was just flying RIGHT and it hasnt done that as viciously and consistently as it did today for a long time.

ended up on a grand total of 17points.
could have scrambled a few more together but really wasnt in the zone.
looking forward to golf next year being much better than this year :D

Must have been a week day as I have been quoted $45 for 12 or more players on a Sunday, or $55 if less than 12!

No wonder they arent getting our patronage more often!

yeah it was, anything under $50 a round on the weekend would be pretty hard to find wouldn't it?

If you are looking for value, Balaklava is still $25 per round. Course and Greens are in pretty good nick at the minute too.

Been playing a little bit over the holidays, think I've had 4 rounds last 3 weeks all ranging from 33 to 40 points so playing reasonably ok during this stretch.

Had another round of matchplay tournament that I got up in last night so move into the final 8. Matchplay is awesome, should be more of it.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Played at TTG today...

Started on the back 9, struggled at the start but had a solid end to the 9.

Started the front 9 with a bang, Par, Par, Birdie and finished off with 37 points.

Was freaking brutal out there...

The Birdie on the 3rd was a beautiful 5 iron to about half a foot.

Apart from the heat, was a good day

I'll never understand this game. Saturday playing par -7 (that's bad if you don't play par), 4 balls in the drink. Today 44 points, 2 over off the stick, best ever round. Love it and hate it at the same time.

Struggling a bit lately, got down to 17 but will be out to 20 next week after some poor rounds.

Tried my mates Callaway Rogue ($900 driver!) last night on the 18th, my god what a beast, time for a new driver :D

Decent hit.
Lost many a ball under that tree.
Think they cleared it up a bit now to make it easier to find stray balls?
