All pretty tasty fixtures. Should be mostly pretty close games. Interested in how Para Vista and Athelstone go.

Re: PDCA
Little flat, we were told we could enter a 2nd side if there was an odd number of teams.

That would open up a can of worms wouldn't it. SW, AV and ER would want ten teams in wouldn't they.
Is there room for a B Grade t20 comp???

I asked at the pre-season meeting - no one had any objections.
I'm over it anyway.
*edit* - I asked if clubs could nominate multiple sides, not just Enfield.. T20 isn't as interesting for most.

Weather forecast isn’t great, not hopeful of much play.

Isnt it somewhat ironic that many b graders and c graders only want to play one day cricket but then aren't interested in t20.

Not really, who wants to pay $200 plus in subs and not participate in the game at all which is a very real prospect in T20 cricket if you bat 5 to 9 and dont bowl. Id be 90% sure thats why there isnt interest in it at lower levels

Fully agree with Daysofourlives. Also a lot of B and C Grade games don't go the distance so by the time you take into account the travel to and from an away game, the time you should be warming up, but what B and C do, who wants to spent hours to field half a dozen balls.

Re: PDCA
Sunday cricket is a big part of why no one cares.. the other is the fact 3hrs in the middle of the day feels like a waste of time for most. You're practically giving up your whole day for such a short game.

Change to 8 team 1day comp playing home and away plus 3 weeks finals (17 weeks total)
Expand a T20 comp on Saturdays as double headers (3-4 Weeks)

Yeah T20 is actually pretty crap to play unless you are an alrounder to be honest.

Re: PDCA
Enfield become flag favourites in grade 2 after easily defeating ATCO. Do you agree The Bedge?

Incorrect. The ‘banter’ started as soon as he thought you were going to win and then magically disappeared before you lost.. and also two different ends of the spectrum that type of banter isn’t it ? You can try to spin it how ever you want though!

So its banter now? Bloke was there for half n hour, you clearly took issue with him personally which was quite noticeable.Eggy wrote:BenchedEagle wrote:Didnt that start with a certain home side player yelling out abuse to to said person on sideline about being on ‘roids’ with their child on their lap.Eggy wrote:Just want to remind people that when you at an opposition teams home ground you should try and respect it a little bit not be there bagging players from the sidelines when you’re not even playing and especially not repeatedly dropping the C bomb while you have your young child sitting on your lap…..

So maybe reflect on your own actions of targeting someone not even playing and keep it to who is on field next time.
Was a good game with lots of ebbs and flows between the 2 best sides in the grade, look forward to the return fixture.

Apparently a 14 year old was Mankad in the LO2’s yesterday. The ‘spirit of cricket’ is dead.
