We do have 4 rookie spots to fill...I actually think he would suit one of the top teams i.e. Stengle has fitted seamlessly into a good organised team where he can play to his strengths. I could see Jimmy having a 30-40 goal season at somewhere like Melbourne.

Agree that this is pretty atrocious by the Club (if what's presented here is accurate).

The only reason people are talking about this kid is because his father is some sort of big shot on talk back radio. It's likely the same reason he ever played an AFL game too.

Where is that bullshit talk no doubt spun by his father or agent about the Bulldogs 'chasing' him to try and pressure the Crows into giving him another contract? Talk about trying to play the game and then crying foul when things don't go their way.

Some of the comments and views on this topic by people are bizarre, the only issue is the lack of a phone call to say we changed our mind and not getting a contract now. How anybody can think this is acceptable is beyond me Who his Dad is has nothing to do with anything!

It's got everything to do with it, it's the only reason you know about it.

I'm not saying it was great by the Crows it isn't but this is the reality for young guys when AFL teams discard them, they're unceremoniously dumped. Something similar (promise of being rookie listed and then oops changed our minds, see ya later) probably happens around the AFL 4-5 times every year but you never hear about it because those kids dads aren't some blowhard on talk back radio.

Nearly a goal a game in a side that's won a dozen games in the last two years playing the hardest role in the side.

His defensive pressure is minimal, if he was in an organized unit he might average 1.5-2 per game and be a 30-40 goal a year forward. No doubt he's got footy smarts and goal sense.

It's hard to read Rowe's numbers, he was subbed on twice and had next to zero impact.

He had two more games where he may aswell have been playing in a sandpit, he had 4 or 5 very serviceable games but he never really compliments all of his skillset in the one game.

He laid 5 tackles twice, he kicked multiple goals on 4 occasions and had half a dozen matches where he collected a decent amount of disposals, just doesn't really put it all together on the one day.

He probably got a little complacent as he had a pretty handy debut season.

I agree.....as a money ball pick Rowe would be better value than Rioli and maybe has some bigger upside given he doesn't have a past littered with drug and discipline problems.

If Rioli had not of said he wanted to come home would Port have chased him that hard........i believe the answer would be no.
