Re: Round 18 South vs Power Reserves Sunday 1:35
Potentially three more debutants for South this week, all local lads:
IN: Gunther, Tucker, Spacie, Duncan, Bradley
OUT: Fitt (H & S Protocols), Turner
NEW: Harry Spacie (Happy Valley), Charlie Duncan (Happy Valley), Angus Bradley (Willunga)
MILESTONE: Eamon Wilkinson – 50 games
Hard to get evenly mildly enthused about this match. As outlined in CEO Neill Sharpe's rather accurate season summary sent to members early in the week, this will be the first time since the Fuller era in 2013 that South go into the final few rounds of the season not in finals calculations.
South by a few goals in front of 800 attendees.

Garthwaite should of been down back since round 4.
Not a forward imo but they tried him there.
He seems at home down back. Played down back at Richmond.
As for the game - really a toss of the coin.
We were putrid in the last quarter v west last weekend.
Bit of a dead rubber game tbh and we seem to have selected some young kids from the southern pathway.
Draw.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Will Port get any 'emergencies' back into the side today?

Is having Power Reserves' games scheduled to align with their AFL team's games one of those unfair conditions Koch was referring to?

Perhaps putting the AFL game and Reserves game as far apart as possible (Adel to Melb, Adel to Noarlunga, as the private jet flies) is an "unfair condition"

"It's unfair that our reserves have to play at Noarlunga. South Adelaide should've moved their home game to Docklands to align with our league game." - Port probably

Well done Panthers!. Not that it mattered, but nice to know you can kick 60m after the siren.

Re: Round 18 South vs Power Reserves Sunday 1:35
In similar fashion to the game at Alberton earlier in the season, South reeled in a 4+ goal lead to sneak home against the Power Reserves.
Not a game that reached any great heights in damp conditions underfoot, but both teams cracked in hard.
Garthwaite, Sampson, Brooksby, Haines and Shillabeer named best for South. Garthwaite was solid down back before shifting to full forward late and kicking 3 goals (including a 60-65m torp after the siren). O'Neill a little unlucky not to get a mention, liked his game.
Pleasing to send Sam Overall off with a win in his 114th and final match in South colours. A 'workhorse' forward who put his body on the line every week and played for the jumper. Whenever a scuffle broke out, #7 was generally in the middle of it. Suffered from the yips at times, which saw his goal tally (138) perhaps not finish as high as it could have. Found some continuity in recent years compared to his younger years when he was quite injury prone.
