Nordburger - Hindmarsh
Pressed for time last night so ducked in here prior to the Gov.
Haven't been here before. Was quite busy.
Food took about 15mins to come out.
My burger was stone cold.
Got another one, but not too sure I'm gonna rush back....

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews
Went to The Company Kitchen in Angaston on Sunday.
Lovely little place, it would look an absolute treat during summer while the vines are at their optimum.
Got a Porterhouse with a garlic prawn topping ($47) and the Barramundi with Hollandaise Sauce ($30).
Asked more medium rare, was closer to well done, the topping was sensational though, the Barra was a tad dry.
I was a bit shocked to cop a 10% Sunday surcharge, you'd think the Barossa would be a thriving metropolis on a Sunday, there were so many Cellar Doors closed and it was our 3rd choice of places to eat, can't see myself giving them another crack, their service was exceptional though.
Ended up at Seppeltsfield for some wine tasting and stocking of the rack, then stopped in at the glorious Seppeltsfield Road Distillers for a couple of gins while we were in the neighbourhood.
Off to suss out Hahndorf this Sunday if anyone has any recommendations.

Gluten free bakery? Will give it a crack.
Needed something quick yesterday, felt crook all night. Pasty wasn’t cooked enough and maybe the meat inside (sausage roll)

That’s back up the road a bit. Jeeez Louise is right by the pedestrian crossing, more cafe style. I’m currently having one of their pasties, next level stuff.

Ambleside Distillers, on the left near the entrance into Hahndorf
Bean & Bikkie co for coffee and gingerbread biscuits etc
Comida (next the the Hahndorf Old Mill) for a good feed for lunch
Nepenthe as a winery to visit, Shaw & Smith & The Lane are nice but a bit 'wanky' for mine
If you wish to venture a little further, say another 15minutes drive:
Prancing Pony @ Totness
Lot 100 at Hay Valley (Gin, beer, wine, food) fantastic set up and outlook
Greenvalle Strawberries for coffe/light lunch

Thank you Rams!!
I'll definitely use this this as a guide, I can see myself venturing to Nepenthe Wines and Lot 100 sounds appealing, probz gonna get up there early afternoon after a couple of stops in the city, would've loved to stop in at Green Valley Strawberries on the way out but I see they are closed on Mondays.
Are you able to give me a yay or a nay for dinner at Haus? German cuisine isn't high on my favourites list but hey, when in Hahndorf!

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews
Just on that, what's everyone's favourite cuisines?
1: Greek
2: Mexican
3: Italian
Restaurants:
If cashed up/special occasion: Greek on Halifax, Sammy's, La Trottoria.
Price vs Quality and Convenience: Cafe Di Roma, House of The Red Dragon, The Rose Garden.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews
My first ever work lunch was at the Greek on Halifax. I was still at uni, and was with investment bankers from Sydney.
In my mind I was thinking surely these blokes are paying for this, while we were getting stuck into some platters and drinking absurdly priced wine from Hentschke. If they didnt then I was in strife.
Ended well.

I love everything, depends what mood i'm in.. but i'd probably go with:
1. Korean
2. Mexican
3. Afghan
Then throw a blanket over:
Vietnamese, Thai, Indian.
Italian / Pasta / Pizza is a bit of a sometimes food for me - have to really be craving it to eat it.
Love anything with seafood in it, and a bit of spice.

They do have a broad range of cuisines on the menu, including a handful of German dishes so there’s something to please everyone.
If you really want a broader menu of some more traditional German dishes, swing across the road to The Hahndorf Inn.
In an old/historical building with low roof, heavy wooden beams etc. A good place to knock a few pints back of traditional German beers also

Thank you very much, we're staying there so I thought it would be apt to eat there, especially after viewing their menu.
The Hahndorf Inn looks very tempting now, the Germans appear to be big eaters!!

My first couple of visits were work shows too, I was blown away and said to myself "I'm coming back here after a good day on the punt"
If you start with the "Four Island Mixed Dip Platter" and then get either on of the "Thalassina Seafood, Olympian Meat or Mixed Platters" you will not be disappointed.
3 drinks each and you're looking at $200-$230 all up for an absolute exquisite feast. Would love to take the whole clan.
