From what I’m aware, they’re struggling real bad this week - something like 29 out.
A grade squad yesterday was only at 18 - didn’t even have a bench.. and that 18 included a kid who is still only 16 and was playing C grade last season.
3x concussions from last week, 2x interstate holiday, 4x FIFO workers, 1x car accident during the week, couple working, handful with covid and approaching a dozen with season ending injuries.
As of Thursday the B grade had 8 - and 6 of them were 1st 18 kids from the school.
Club probably could’ve scrapped towards 14 and put a side out but when most of the squad are 16/17 year old kids out of school who don’t play club footy it’s probably not the smartest move.

This year will continue to be a struggle, but positive is the coaches & players are all committed for next year to keep striving to improve. Kids will come out of school hopefully fill most their B grade along with some older heads, get a few back from injuries. Just need to recruit probably 6-8 more back in as well to add depth.

A battle for the Blues, but at least they’re doing their best to try and field sides each week this season, and taking their licks when plenty other clubs over the years have opted for easier options.
Might not stop Ash Man from throwing shade.. but then again no one gives a ****.

C'mon man.. don't you think every club - especially one in D4 - would be doing everything in their power to field sides each week? No one wants to forfeit - not C grade sides, definitely not A or B grade sides.
Yes Pulteney forfeited earlier in the season against Hope Valley - would've likely had a similar strength side as yesterday.. copped a bit of crap.. faced with the same decision again this week they had a crack - and look at the result - almost a 200 point loss in D4! **** me dead!
Not every club is blessed with a junior program, or a big footy school.. it's been obvious since day 1 Pulteney were going to be pushing shit up hill this year with a lack of depth... but at least they're still trying.

Re: 2022 Adelaide Footy League - Division 4
I watched Pembroke v Pulteney on the weekend
Poor kicking for goal cost Pulteney big time.
They should have been in front at 1/4 time and even at half time
10 easy shots missed up to when I left early in the last quarter
It seemed easy for Pembroke to score when they went forward but Pulteney pressured them all up the ground
I dont know whether they have got some players back but they didn't look like a side that was getting beaten by 20 goals each week

Very similar to when they played us. They missed a lot of easy goals, but were also very easy to score against

Pembroke have 7 to come back in to that team and Pulteney had 5 of their better players back in from the week before. Pulteney are a competitive bunch with their best line up but do lack some quality in defence. Giddings is a fair out for them and he plays pretty well when he’s behind the footy. At least they do their best to line up week to week which can’t be easy, personally I’d like to see them claim a scalp before the season ends.

Re: 2022 Adelaide Footy League - Division 4
If a club had a player who played last weekend in the SANFL reserves and has played the previous 4 or 5 games is there any way they can play this weekend in the Adelaide Footy League? I was always under the impression that if you played SANFL the week before a SANFL club or league bye you were unable to come back and play at your local club?

A very kind gesture by the Walkerville FC C grade today by lining up after the game to see off our 350 game player, Jarrad Dunn
Greatly appreciated

Reckon I said a few weeks ago I smelt a scalp.
Walkerville are falling apart and it was always on the cards.
So happy for the Blues, reckon the cue to the Hyde Park would be all the way to…….Pulteney Street

Apparently all junior games were called off for Plympton Oval yesterday due to Flooding. with the weather being crap this week, should we have a plan B ready?
