Out for 176 but agree with you, batting incredibly well and just did what he wanted dominating the NZ attack.locky801 wrote:How much was the captaincy weighing on Joe Root, looks like a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders and is batting wonderfully well.
Can see a big 200 coming up here maybe 300 if the tail can hang in there

may only be 2 if Jamieson can't bat.
Poms favourites to go 2-0 up

Get another 20 and I think draw.

Yep, didn't even look to bowl a yorker to Boult and if there's any shot he loves playing its the pull shot! That's a handy 35 run partnership for the 10th wicket, Boult basically hits his average and Mitchell finishes 62*, he's be outstanding so far.Senor Moto Gadili wrote:Strange tactics by England. How about bowl at the bloody stumps when Boult is on strike

No Jamieson means England are in the box seat IMO but hopefully Boult and Southee can get some early wickets.Senor Moto Gadili wrote:England need 299 off 72 overs ..... could be a long night

Yeah I was initially surprised initially that Henry was preferred to Wagner but I guess NZ expected the pitch to not be this flat. You'd think he'll definitely play in the third test now.Senor Moto Gadili wrote:The Dark Knight wrote:Wagner on the lip to Pope- "One hundred doesn't make a career."
It's a pity Wagner can't bowl. Maybe Jamieson should have head butted one of those bouncers and they could have played the concussion card and subbed in Wagner.
