Sounds like the main sticking point to the Judd deal is convincing Kennedy to go back to WA and play for the Eagles.

Yep. Have heard that Kennedy does not want to go back, and would like to stay with the Blues. Geez it's a bloody meat market some times....

Personally I think Judd for pick 1 is a fair trade, he's one of the best going around if not the best. It's only the circumstances surrounding the deal that put Carlton in the box seat, and if they broker a deal with Richmond to get him in the pre-season draft then I think the AFL need to look at it, the problem is that Carlton want to make sure they get Cruzer with pick#1 and Judd also, sounds like they want their cake and everything else at the party, hope they get burnt. These priority picks are crap and undermine the whole comp, time for "Don't do anything Demitriou" to do something!

I agree with the Priority pick scenario. But IMO, the AFL hit Carlton very hard re draft picks a few years ago, so perhaps Carlton thought f##k it, we'll play the game too. If the AFL are stupid enough to have the pick system that they use, then it doesn't bother me if clubs use them to their advantage (Carlton this year, St Kilda a few years ago along with Collingwood)...

SJABC, Carlton got burnt because they had their fingers in the fire, serves them right but I can see what you're saying. I have a problem with underachieving clubs being propped up in the draft system and especially with the priority pick system, saying that, it's not as bad as it was when Saints, Collingwood etc loaded up. I don't blame Carlton if they try to break a deal with Richmond for Judd in the pre season, it's business but I don't think it's right and I'd hope they get burnt for it.
Everyone would say that Judd is the #1 player in the comp so he's worth the #1 pick, Carlton are getting greedy, by all means they should go for it. I'm getting sick of interstate players getting drafted and wanting to go home after a few years.

Trevor Nisbett has said they are having a rest day tomorrow and all deals are on hold until Thursday.

I feel the crows would have got that. The bulldogs need a decent ruckman, and Hudson is ok. So the bullies would have been keen to give up something for him.

Stan,

Agree, surely the crow would not accept a third round pick on day 2 of the trade, unless it was a third round, with a very good player.

For the deal to get done so early in the week, I am expecting another second round pick to Adelaide

J Griffin

My sources say he is talking with Essendon, strangely enough he is from the west and has a house just put under contract.

If this is true dont discount Cameroun Wood back in the mix

Interesting to notice that no-one has mentioned Pfeiffer... has had a terrible run with injuries and off field incidents since being drafted and is now out of contract. The kid can obviously play good footy, will the crows offer him a new contract or let him slide?

If we let him slide we are gunning for the #1 pick next year.

Pfeiffer has had a roller coaster couple of years, however this kid will be a GUN

Lets hope he has a huge injury free pre-season, he gets an opportunity in the pre-season, if he does he will kick on from there

Pfeiffer has the ability to be a quality player no doubt, Im just starting to worry a bit though that he might become one of those players that meanders a little too long and we mightn't end up seeing the best of his potential ... Certainly hope it's not the case though.

With all the players leaving and trades, i think Perrie and Bode are lucky to have not really been discussed. I personally rate Bode highly and would love to see him in the forward pocket again.

I heard Bode was given 6 weeks (about 6 weeks ago) to prove to the club that his body was up to going on for another year - I hope it is I think he is good value as a crumbing forward

Perrie out and potentially Bode and Doughty. And for some reason Jericho is staying.

I rekon the crows need to possibly look at any player they offered up for trade and the reasons why clubs dont take them for some of the delistings !!!
