PS I've never seen this place so packed!

I love the red ales, so I did try this the other day at the Clovey. I love it!

I'm still on it, agreed!

Having an argument in the Penneshaw pub at the moment.
Can anyone remember beer being sold in cans, similar to Red Bull can, tall and skinny. Mate reckons they were known as "tubes" while I am calling bullshit. Tube was a slang term for any can. Prompt confirmation appreciated.

Corona certainly was sold in tall thin cans like Red Bull cans, I used to buy them.

Fair enough Brodlach but I left out some of the criteria in my original post. Had to be 375 ml and from 70/80s. He has sent me a pick of a 500ml Fosters can and claimed victory. However that fails on several points main one being it’s not beer.

You might be saved on a technicality as tubes in the 70s were 370ml not 375ml.

:YMSICK: @Wedgie, When I was about 12, my older cousins made me sneak a 6 pack of them out of a party, it was harder trying to sneak 5 back into the party, they were pure buffalo piss.

Oh. Boy.

Trappist beer is brewed by Trappist monks. Fourteen monasteries—six in Belgium, two in the Netherlands, and one each in Austria, Italy, England, France, Spain and the United States—currently produce Trappist beer as members of the International Trappist Association and this 10% banger is one of the funky monks best work! Sharp start, almost a whiskey like burn, rich, deep middle and slightly bitter end this shit is amazing, for beer lovers only.

Thought I'd try a "Better Beer" since it's supposed to be a healthy option.
**** me, it's awful, I'd rather die in the next 12 months drinking a decent beer than spending 50 years drinking that crap.
:vom: :vom:

Straight down the sink, shouldn't be allowed to call itself a beer.

Mrs has got her hands on a few dozen Mr Stubbs bottles as she's a finance officer at a big wine company.
She has 3 sorts so far, Margi, Cosmo and an Espresso version.
They're kind of like cocktails but have some wine in them too which I can't even taste in the Margi (my fav) but it's quite obvious in the Cosmo that my missus likes.
Probably not something everyone will buy when its available to the public as a case of 6x500 ml bottles will cost $450 but we get 6 for $75 out of her wine allowance. Basically for free as we used to give away most of the wine she got but love this stuff!
Keep your eye out for it if you get a chance to try or it or pop in at my place. ;)

They're damn good, I even chose one over beer when I got home from a counter lunch today!

Her company are putting out a variety of gins soon too! Happy (drunk) times! :partyman:

Now I’m not a fan of craft beers….

On a flight to Auckland and the crew offer me a beer…. Little Creatures Pacific Ale.

Only thing it’s got going for it, is, it’s free.
