Other than smelling like a lamb Yiros and stale beer the mask is still going strong.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

It's also very important not to get the two mixed up.mots02 wrote:Changing masks at the same frequency that you change your underwear... a good way to enforce everyone to keep their 1.5m distance!amber_fluid wrote:I’ve had the same disposal mask for 18 months.Armchair expert wrote:I'd say 1% of people are using masks correctly, ie. wearing properly + n95 + not reusing

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
The announcements yesterday regarding 7 days of iso for positive cases counts for tests prior to tomorrow? My son (me) just got a test to say that he is requires to do 7 days of iso and wear a mask when around others for days 8 to 10.
I'm assuming this means he has a shortened quarantine period, however the rest of us still do 14 days if continually test negative?

If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
Education Deprtament staff emailed today, can now continue working even when a close contact if a PCR test is negative and with a negative RAT each morning for seven days post-exposure. Must isolate outside of work times.Mythical Creature wrote:Due to the numbers in my sons class, yesterday sa health via the school asked for every kid that isn't already positive in that class to have a pcr by today.Pag wrote:Schools starting to really struggle with staffing numbers due to contracting/close contacting.
Wouldn't surprise if the vaccine mandate gets dropped (like the police force) or close contacts rules change. If not, you may see students of particular year levels or even whole schools being at home for periods again.
I would bet over half the cases now would be coming via school.
I probably won't catch it again, so hoping the mrs and daughter go positive today so that they get the 8 week immunity and make me highly unlikely to be a close contact

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
I started out with a mild headache and muscular aches on Wednesday morning this week but felt better later in the day. On Thursday I woke up with a runny nose and sneezing and some fatigue, but no temperature elevation. I played a safe and an RA Test late morning indicated I had Covid. A later PCR confirmed it.
Today, I feel OK apart from a runny nose and some sneezing. My wife is negative so far. The timing suggests I may have picked it up at an Art class I went to with my wife on Tuesday, as my other potential exposures were last weekend and the government advice is that that is too far back. I'm not entirely convinced by that because events I went to on Saturday and Sunday involved larger numbers and more mixing.
I'm glad I'm triple vaxxed as it is really fairly mild.

Long line up to get tested
From what I hear, so many people are not getting PCR tested
If so, it must be pretty widespread at the moment

Friends are going into their third lot of 7 day isolation in 5 weeks.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

Long line at 6 pm, empty at 7 am this morning.
Driving past it every day has led me to believe that there are long lines on Monday (or for this week's purposes Tuesday) that are empty by Friday.
Almost like people are trying to get the sick certificate, but don't need one for the weekend!

Or, in our case, kid at school coughs. We get a call, he has symptoms, come get him and he has to have a test before he can return...

After my RAT came up positive last Thursday I went to the Mt Barker outlet to check it with a PCR.Jimmy_041 wrote:I went past Viccy Park yesterday about Noon

It was all done in 5 minutes - no queue at all.
When I had my booster vaccine a couple of months ago the wait at the Mt Barker depot was 10 minutes.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
i heard the premier say yesterday that they were considering reducing the isolation period for close contacts from 14 down to 7 days???
on 5th march my 11yr old had a positive pcr and we were advised that people in our house had to isolate for SEVEN DAYS
on 12 march we received a text from SA Health saying our isolation period would end at 11.59pm that night.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
It's currently (an excessive) 14 days if you cant separate yourself from the covid carrier. If you can avoid contact with that person it's 7 days. Unless of course that's changed since January when I spent half of the month home with a completely asymptomatic 1yo.stampy wrote:i heard the premier say yesterday that they were considering reducing the isolation period for close contacts from 14 down to 7 days???
